Hand-to-hand in daggerfall

Post » Tue Apr 05, 2011 8:50 am

Hi, I was wondering what are the advantages of hand-to-hand over other weapons. What is the maximum damage with it? I want to roleplay a werewolf, but it just isn't right when my damage is like only 3. Also, does it damage fatigue as well? Thanks :)

It increases linearly with skill level, up to a max of 1-20 dmg/hit. Also, it's the fastest weapon in the game and can damage any creature, regardless of material requirements. Plus, you can uppercut and roundhouse kick people, what's not to love? Personally, I kind of like it, even as just a backup weapon skill.

If you become a werewolf, you'll be unstoppable. (I mean that in the super-unbalancing awesome sense)

You can increase hand2hand skill from just using it as a werewolf, right? Since I can only do 3-4 damage right now, hope I become much better in the future.

You get something like a 30 point bonus to hand-to-hand once you've completed the transformation to a were-creature. My hand-to-hand skill is miscellaneous (as in, I didn't expect to be using it), but it's at 45% right now. This carries over in human-form, too. It's quite useful if your skill is up to snuff, but I still prefer swords and bows.

It also increases with Strength, which gets a huge bonus as well once you've been infected.

If you have a really high speed or items that make you really fast, you can make yourself into a [censored]-slap windmill. Wham Wham Wham Wham Wham!

Does it go up doing things like kicking open doors? I find myself doing that from time to time in dungeons.

I've been infected and transformed for about 2 weeks now, but my hand2hand is still at 4 points damage!
