When did everyone here become a martial arts expert?

As soon as they got on the internet.

Good thing we got a modder like Skycaptain then. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJRtwkmgptQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ax9U_07t0lY

There is a race in TES that uses Martial Arts, the Khajiit. It's called the "Rain of Sands" fighting style. I think a few of the Hand-To-Hand Training Books in Oblivion mention it.

It would be pretty awesome if the beast races could use their claws/tails in H2H combat. Like the Argonian can whip his tail around your neck and choke you with it, or if he's strong enough, snap your neck with it. I don't think the Khajiit tail would be strong enough to do that, but they got claws like the Argonians do. Would be cool to see a disembowel finisher with H2H with a beast race.

I think tails are meant for balance. I don't think it makes sense to use a tail for something like that when that's not what they normally use their tails for. It would have to be flexed tightly too; doesn't seem applicable. However a snake could do it, but it's not like a lizard's tail.

I'm confident Bethesda will include kicking in the melee mechanics, maybe with a perk or something I suspect.

This.

Oh yes please.Kicking has become a standart these days.Especially in a melee-oriented action game,I see this as essential.I can't guess if it will be in or out though, but I have a feeling there won't be...=P

yeah, maybe even some locational kicking, or maybe even the ability to kick while wielding weapons.

front kicks would work against armoured opponents

also- us martial artists are just enthusiastic on the idea of our beloved kicks and grapples getting into such a game, so long as i dont have to do in game patterns :)

Some are. But a lot of the "experts" just want to argue about why their martial art is supreme. And while I am sure the Hillbilly martial art developed in the swamps of Arkansas is amazing especially when paired up with their traditional jug(useful for hitting, drinking, and Music) it doesn't really add much to the thread. Do I want more advanced unarmed combat techniques in this game. Yes, just like I'd like more advanced weapon techniques in the game. Kicks, grapples all of that would be great if it is balanced correctly. I don't need to hear about how the drunken jug smashing flute move is the most powerful move in history, I am willing to accept punches hurting armored creatures just like I am willing to accept daggers hurting dragons and other 50 ton armored creatures.
