Hand-to-Hand Health Damage

Post » Thu Mar 25, 2010 12:31 am

I've been exhausting the internet for a mod that can simply make hand-to-hand damage health (and/or fatigue, but i'd be happy with just health). I've either come across ones that don't work or ones with nasty and pointless side effects (like breaking your hand if you hit someone with armor on). I'm looking for simple.

So i resort to you, the community to point me in the right direction. Heck, i'm even ready to write my own script to make it happen as it doesn't seem like THAT hard of a concept. However, i know little to nothing about actually writing, i just stick to playing with values in .ini files. So if anyone could help me, i'd greatly appreciate it.

I use the monk mod near the bottom of this page: http://www.xs4all.nl/~dleijen/monk.html#monk

The only side effect is that it makes werewolves very strong.

Damaging fatigue must be random. Hits should damage strength instead. (unconsciousness will be implemented)

Running will have fortify effect on speed first, it will drain fatigue and then speed.

MCP makes hand-to-hand strength based, and restores the ability to "mug" an unconscious opponent. I have no proof per se, but I think that the mugging ability was the reason hand-to-hand was set up to damage fatigue to start with. It adds an extra element to the game that way.

Does your first strike (and consecutive ones) damage health? Or is it just fatigue like vanilla?

It's like vanilla but once your opponent is down, it does a lot more health damage.

Anyone else? Is this a function that could be easily changed in the CS? I know next to nothing but am willing to give it a shot.

I don't think it can be changed in the CS, just the amounts of damage not the type. Let me say this though: H2H with the monk mod is insanely powerful, at least for Vvardenfel enemies. I played a full game with it and ended up feeling a little guilty and cheatish (it was fun though) because it leveled so fast and was so powerful.

You know you can adjust the possibility of that happening, right? It's outlined in the readme.

Fliggerty, I didn't see that anywhere in the readme, when I downoaded from the planetelderscrolls link given. Maybe it was accidentally removed the last time you updated the readme, or maybe everyone is overlooking it.

It is also a good idea to give the info that it is adjustable on the planetelderscrolls page, as you have people making some comments that are unfair if the hand-breaking is adjustable.

Hmm, perhaps the PES version is out of date. I'll double check that.

Well what do you know? I didn't actually release that updated version. Just did some polishing to it and released it a few minutes ago: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1091925-relz-improved-hand-to-hand-v12/
