Hand to Hand...

Beowulf killed Grendel by hand. His sword wasn't working, so he ripped his arm off. Imagine grabbing onto the neck of a dragon and holding tight, it swings around violently for several minutes, and then, with your mighty strength, you snap it!

Not really. That would be a bit OTT. But still, you should be able to do it much like how Heracles defeated the Hydra. Bash it's head in until it's brain is mush.

EDIT: Mostly though, you might just have to rely a bit more on dragonshouts, and having wristguards, gauntlets, claws, etc. would make it much easier.

I don't neccessarily want any "weapons" for hand-to-hand, I just want it to be better. I want some more martial-arts like stuff. Not just punch-punch-punch, let's see some actual hand-to-hand. In real life it's so much more thrilling to do and watch than in previous games.

Hand to hand should open up abilities like being able to grab/throw and disarm opponents at higher proficiencies.

I hope that isn't too hard for them.

no, of course not, they just have make a new game engine, make all the animations, and come up with ways in which it could work with the controllers. of course its going to be hard for them, its not about making their work easy, that's their job after all.

Bruce Lee inspired martial arts would definitely be best for hand-to-hand if it's still in it. Incorporating kicks, counters, grabs, and/or throws could be tough though.

That kind of logic doesn't really make much sense. Magic can't kill people in real life because we can't use magic in real life, but in a world where it's possible for people to shoot fireballs out of their hands, it's easy to imagine such spells killing powerful enemies like dragons. It's slightly harder to imagine it for hand to hand combat, but that's beside the point.

You almost have to agree that even though its not realistic, it could be believable if hand to hand got some attention. A lot of people hold hand to hand to realism, dispite the fact that the other combat styles aren't, and it's rather annoying from time to time.

I think we can agree that as long as its' believable, things will be fine. Doesn't need to be realistic, it just needs to be believable.
