Hand-To-Hand; Will it be useful?

I was just thinking to myself: "Hand to Hand in Oblivion was utterly useless, people did create mods for it though, but that made it overpowered"

So, Will Hand-To-Hand be better than TES4 or stay the same?

I hope it gains some potential! doesn't have to be as strong as a weapon, but it being able to play on par if used properly. . . would be great

Thats my favorite skill...I love killing people with a punch to the face <_<

but I do hope it changes for the better.

Even if you were a really strong person I don't see how punching someone who is wearing full armour would be effective.

I can't see how fists would ever be useful unless the person is not wearing armour or perhaps you have some sort of gauntlet with spikes or something.

i wonder if they'll even have it with there only being 18skills, but that can be another topic...If they add better perks or "unarmed" weapons like fallout 3 and NV it would be great.weapons as in numb chucks maybe...

... Huh? Hand-to-hand was useless in Morrowind, not in Oblivion. It can really only go up from there.

I wish hand-to-hand involved more than just boxing/scratching(argonian/khajiit) but actually had various of moves you could learn. Like kicks, throws, take-downs and what not.

I would like if I could use hand-to-hand to leave enemies unconscious. Or maybe they could add hand-to-hand weapons (cestus and that stuff). Anyway, having swords... I think I prefer them.

Have to agree, but people? What about bears, takes a while but oh so satisfying.

the kid that just asked what a numb chuck was made me laugh really hard. but anyway, ya whats the point of Hand to Hand?? we swing swords in this game its close combat anyway.. They should probably just take it out!

With the advancements they made to unarmed combat in Fallout: New Vegas I can only hope and assume Bethesda has learned from what Obsidian did or at least been inspired by it :)

I think they should add bonuses to your hand to hand skill depending on if you are wearing armor, having a metal gauntlet would definitely add to the damage of a punch. It would also be useful if they had a way to initiate a disarm and possibly theft of an opponents weapon that would make it very useful in combat (adding in an element of timing to fighting as well).

Just add in a bunch of move to knock out, flinch, takedown opponent.

Then add some cool moves to knock their weapon out of their hand, or even better yet steal their weapon.

It's only really a role players skill anyway. The only way that they could make it somewhat worth using is if they added things like knuckle dusters and made it so every next middle class argonian didn't carry a long sword with him at all times.

I think they should either remove it or do it properly.

Having it like it has been in the previous Elder Scrolls games would be a waste of one of 18 skills

I never tried it, simply because I really don't care about it. I just don't see how you would go about punching a troll, or why not a flame astronach, in the face.

How about just deleting the whole skill, ey? We don't really need it after all.

According to Lore there are numerous arts of hand-to-hand. This skill has massive potential that bethesda hopefully takes advantage of.
