Hand Load ammo

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:45 am

So I've managed to get to lvl 22 on my guns character, and have only just now seen the stats for the hand load ammo. WOW! Some of that ammo is uber.
Is it possible to get the schematics for these out in the world, or are they only available with the hand loader perk? The wording of the perk makes me think the recipes are out there somewhere to be found, just that the perk makes them all known right away (Much like Warmonger perk from FO3, that instantly gave all V3 schematics)
'cos if I can't get schematics, I'm gonna have to go back and restart this character build and get the perk (Which I REALLY CBF doing).
Thanks in advance.

I got my only schematic (don't remember from whom) for the .44 Magnum, Hand Load. I got this one and it was kind of out of the blue; I didn't know how to get one. It's really important to speak with everyone because it could get you something good.

Taking the Hand Loader perk is the only way to get the 6 special hand loads. The .44 Mag Hand Load requires a schematic for some reason and is bugged from what I understand (according to the wiki anyway). Not that it matters. The .308 JSP, a sniper rifle and This Machine is all you'll ever need.

That's odd I didn't think the .44 magnum required a schematic i've always seen it come up in my inventory. Now there's a schematic for the .44 SWC that you get from that guy in the North Square area of Vegas. Personally I like the Hand Load perk not due to the schematics, but due to it collecting 25% to 30% more ammo shell casings. Best part is the Gun Runners always had a jar of powder + a box of firing primers which helps making your own ammunition that much easier. I'll also just deconstruct worthless ammo like the .22LR stuff.

I do recommend getting the .44 SWC ammo schematic since it does good damage and wicks away the DT of your opponent.

yeah the 357 JFP is also worth having... cause I like lucky!

I was a little disapointed with Hand Loader if I'm honest thugh... no 5.56 and several other ammo missing a hand load variant
