1 handed vs 2 handed weapons : V

In oblivion the 2 handed weapons were actually worse than the 1 handed weapons. Are 2 handed weapons going to have higher base damage than 1 handed weapons this time around?

I read that they in fact deal alot more damage this time and really have a powerfull "feel" to them!
