Handling your spells after casting

This isn't Lord of the Rings... We have lore for a reason. I don't see many horse of water in the REALMS of Oblivion.

Jimis, the reason we shouldn't break off from lore is it homogenizes TES with other fantasy games...

I never said that, i care more for the gameplay though. BUT, if the they want it, they can add it to the lore with a nice story for a background

I don't see many Daedric Princes with fiery dragons or water horses :P And if we homogenize TES anymore, we can name it Lord of the Rings: Tamriel!

Ok, leave it, i cant communicate, you take every example according to what is happening to lore and what the plane of oblivion has, and not according to what will add more fun to the game, despite the fact that i told you, if they want they can add another plane which you could summon other creatures

Each of the Daedric Princes has a realm. And what use would adding water horses do? I'm sorry I don't want to play Generic Fantasy Tolkien Clone #2038421. I apologize I like TES being original and not Lord of the RIngs. [sarcasm] How about Dunmer become Drow? And we can make orcs be savages? Oh and necromancy is automatically evil. And healing magic is a gift from the gods. Oh and Daedra are evil demons? [/sarcasm] See where I'm going here?

It's nothing against you, I just don't want TES to be homogenized into another fantasy game that is basically Tolkien. I can go to Gameswap and grab a fantasy game at random and play Tolkien Clone. I can't go grab an original fantasy game without looking. TES is my favorite fantasy game series (actually my favorite game series), because it's so original.

Edit: Any hostility is unintended, by the way. If you take it that way, I apologize.

Actually those're from Oblivion. Ghosts/Wraiths/Liches are from Acrophoria (Haermaeus Mora), Skeletons and Zombies are from Namira, If I'm correct that is. They may all be from Namira.

A master of destruction would be able to remote control a fireball. Anything less would fail miserably. And why change the shape? And he spoke of summoning fire dragons and water horse (AKA TOLKIEN!)

Close minded people are not the right ones for this thread i think, if you have some really good idea to make the magic better then be my guest, otherwise just reffering to the lore as an excuse to keep gameplay as dumb as it is wont take things anywhere, i cant imagine the next TES even after Skyrim that doesnt have some really spectacular gameplay on all aspects

I think that if you controlled it very loosely, that'd be alright. Kind of like, you could give your conjuration basic commands.

Stay, Protect, Hide, Fight.

But if you did a remote controlled fireball, you'd be doing it by moving the crosshairs in the direction you want it to go.

It can, but we need to not homogenize it. All you want is Lord of the Rings... I highly doubt you even know any lore past the Oblivion Crisis. You know, without lore you can have no gameworld right?

The water horses and all these are examples, ok, did i make myself clear? do you have any example that can make the gameplay better? lets see your ideas

Just, it'd be stupid.

A few lore-friendly ideas to make gameplay better?

Easy...

The ability for a master of conjuration to summon Barbas, the pet of Clavicus Vile as a ridable mount for 300-600 seconds (5-10 minutes).

The ability to summon a member of Sanguine's realms who can do a variety of things from slaughter your foes, supply you with booze, or something from a table of randomized thins.

The ability to conjure a Winged Twilights to supplies or messages from you to somewhere else (it'd make quests for delivering scrolls and the such a breeze)

The ability to become a werewolf, wereboar, werebear.

The ability to become a vohlikar (being able to breathe water, immunity to cold, and amazing attribute bonuses)

Need more lore-friendly ideas?

Please dont tell me about the lore, just have your mind free and think about the gameplay, then see if it fits in it, first of all its a game, its not a movie, if they make a movie then we will talk about the lore more seriously

I really doubt that the developers when they discuss about the developement of the game the first that they have in mind is the lore, is the technology they can use to make things work

Make what work? Without lore, you have a bunch of random unrelated nonsense.

Might as well add guns to TES.

Buddy, Jimis... This serie has a lot of lore. You want 'cool' effects. I want lore to apply. You see, this isn't , this game is unique. You need a mod, Bud.

Edit: Edited to be less offensive.

Why? Why should it appear to be a dragon?

Why? Why do you have to invade every thread and troll the crap out of it? I swear every thread i've seen you post in, i've only ever seen you being negative towards some ones ideas, never constructive.

But you can't dominate conjured creatures. Combos? Burden 100 pounds, back off, pelt with fireballs. Not as advanced as a power attack, but it works.

When he said combos I was thinking more along the lines of maybe, Freeze spells that freeze and maybe a physical attack or physical spell will shatter the person. Or if your ally gets hit by a fire spell that lasts X amount of seconds, you should be able to put out the fire with a blizard spell (or water spell) with no extra damage. Stuff like that.

Well all creatures you summon are from the realms of Oblivion.

No, I dont believe that's true. All I've ever seen in lore is that "Something has to exist some where else for you to be able to summon it.", summoning from daedric realms is just drastically easier. But the subject at hand isn't about conjuration, It's about elemental spells taking the shape of objects/creatures. Which wouldnt fall under the realm of conjuration, if anything it would be a mix of Destruction and Alteration.

As for remote controle spells, i'd like it. Not really extensive abilities, just the ability to control the spells trajectory or something. Would make things more interesting if your enemy dodges your spell. Or if you dodge your enemies.

But most of all, I'd like a telekenisis spell that works, kinda like that bioshock plasmid. It's usefull. All the TES telekenisis is good for is decorating.

None of those were very good ideas. Vohlikar can also move through ice asife it were water, I dont think that would be doable.
