Handling your spells after casting

Post » Sat Jan 23, 2010 2:15 pm

Would you like to have the option to handle your spells (or some high intelligence spells) after casting? for instance, you cast a spell that a huge demon or a huge dragon made of fire comes from your hands, the dragon doesnt just attack the enemy but you are able to handle the way it attacks, or cast a water spell that creates a river which you can move it in any way you want, the same goes with earth or elemental spells, and conjuration spells, i believe with the right animations it would be awesome

I personally don't think we need remote-control fireballs. And summoning demons, you mean daedra yes? And summoning dragons? Anyone who tried to summon a dragon would die. You summon creatures from the planes of Oblivion. The only dragon I know of is Peryite. Anyone who tries to control Peryite is going to end up as a corpse from a disease that'd make the Thrassian Plague look like a common cold.

I mean that the energy of the spell has the figure of a dragon, not a real dragon

Why? Why should it appear to be a dragon?

Okay, but why should we remote-control it? I'm assuming it's conjuration. If you conjure something, it has a mind of it's own.

I would like in some spells to have that option, especially when there are more than two enemies around and you see the creature attacks on the weakest, and in general i would like to handle the energies and the elements around me, and not just cast the spell, i mean ok, a fighter has some combos to fight right? but when you handle a mage you just push the button and thats all, i believe it will add more fun

But you can't dominate conjured creatures. Combos? Burden 100 pounds, back off, pelt with fireballs. Not as advanced as a power attack, but it works.

I would like to see some control over spells -- not neccessarily conjured creatures, but at least something like a very advanced "telekenesis" spell.

Good god, this is a fantasy game dude! don't trip. If he wants a dragon shaped conjuration spouting fire, then so be it. I think that'd be awesome too, the ideas he's mentioning.

You may, depending on what you're conjuring and from where it is being conjured. You can't control the summoned lesser daedra in TESIV because they were servants from Oblivion, under the control of the daedric princes. But you could summon a creature from some other place on Nirn and possibly have control over it, although that hasn't been discussed or implemented in the video game series yet.

As long as it balances the use of magicka and slowly drains it and they get the right button mechanic set up.

It'd be nice.

PS Or you could you know......... just aim better.

Well all creatures you summon are from the realms of Oblivion.

Could you please just forget about oblivion for a minute and think about the new game?

I'm not talking about the game oblivion. I'm talking about the REALMS of Oblivion. In lore, that's where summoned creatures come from. The REALMS of the Daedric Princes. Let me repeat, NOT the game; the REALMS of Oblivion.

Anything you summon comes from a REALM of Oblivion, so summoning draconic beasts of flame is against lore. I don't like my TES lore being mucked up by generic fantasy.

Well the develepores many times as i saw mentioned by others on the forum, have done things on the game that are different from the lore, so if this add more fun on the gameplay then i dont care at all for the lore, i believe with the right story behind they can add anything they like to the lore

Because summoning magical dragon things of fire is totally necessary for plot?

kinda off topic but something i noticed

the NO option wins for almost every thread asking for something diff. People have to realize the game WILL Have different stuff in it and won't be just "Oblivion2:No level scaling"

We don't want Oblivion II: No Level Scaling...

We want TES V: TES

Jimis, the reason we shouldn't break off from lore is it homogenizes TES with other fantasy games...

It seems that you just dont want to get it!!!! i m talking about any creature in general, flame dragon was just an example, you want to say to me that on lord of the rings when you saw Gandalf create a huge wave of horses made of water that swept the Nazghuls away wasnt cool?
