Mr Handy isn't so handy...

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 5:42 am

My Mr Handy has been in the wasteland for 4 days, and has yet to pick up the first piece of gear. I spent money on the 5 pack thinking it would be nice to have a indestructible caps and gear grabber in the wasteland, as per Bethesda's advertising, only to my dismay that he hasn't gotten anything but 3400 caps. Why was I mislead into believing he would get gear when he in fact does not?! I have screen caps of advertising by Bethesda saying he would get gear and caps, and screen caps of him being out for 4 days to no avail (item wise, that is). Help

As far as I know, Mr Handy has and always was only capable of getting caps, that's at least what the tip regarding him says.

There is a page on my loading screen on my phone that says "Send Mr Handy to the wasteland to collect CAPS and items". That's the only reason I bought the 5 dollar pack... I have a Screenshot to that effect, but I can't figure out a way to post it. I'm using a Galaxy S3 to play, and post here.

I've seen that too. I was under the impression Mr. Handy collected items as well. Hmmmm.

Mr Handy is most better used to collect resources and stimpacks while you're not playing, and to provide extra defence at your base.

I am at a point where I have my 4 remaining Mr Handy on the floors with my high end production rooms (nuclear plant, garden, water treatment, nuka cola) since they practical run my vault well above operational needs. Don't really worry about Raiders and death claws because I have my first floor decked out with legendary gear and my highest level characters, and the rest of floors pretty well stocked with guns as well. I just liked the idea of having an indestructible gear grabber that I didn't have to worry about, you know?

I don't remember seeing anywhere that they pick items up either, I was under the impression it was only caps, so I haven't bothered sending any Mr handys out into the wasteland yet.

That is dumb if they advertised items as well (I don't remember seeing it say items but I could be wrong).

Perhaps you should open your eyes a little bit better. Beth is false advertising right in their own game. When you click on your vault and watch the tips that appear during teh loading screens (android) is clearly states, that Mr Handy can collect items and caps.

So, mods are lurking, but our questions go unanswered by Bethesda? That's not cool.

Pretty sure that they are filtering and forward qualified contributions, too ...

But it would be nice if they receive (at least) a list of "known/open bugs" from the developers to post in the forum.

The mods are volunteers, not Bethesda employees. They have zero input on what Bethesda chooses to (or not to) say about comments on the forum.

Mr. Handy is a waste in the Wasteland. I sent him out for a week. He picked up exactly 25 caps at time, and maxed out at 5,000 caps. What a boring explorer log. Seven days and not a single item. A dweller will pick up 5x that many caps, and always finds *something* to bring back. Even a Rusty BB Gun is better than nothing.

The best use for Mr. Handy is collecting from production rooms, freeing long stretches of time to read explorer logs, cull returning explorers' inventories, and move dwellers around the vault. It's nice being able to scroll through the explorer log and not come back to find find my dwellers irradiated, starving, and suicidal.

Advertisemant mentioned items but there is no items collected.

Since it is sold for real money, it may have breached the laws related to trade descriptions.

Bethesda had better fix this.
