Mr. Handy's

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 3:13 am

I am the proud owner of 10 Mr. Handy's but before I double or even triple this, the questions I have about Mr. Handy are the following:

1. Because we cannot monitor Mr. Handy's wasteland progress, how long until he returns?

2. How many caps on average will Mr. Handy bring back from the wasteland?

3. Is there any chance Mr. Handy will comeback with a Legenday weapon or 3 even though it states he collects caps in the waste?

They are labeled premium, I think the only way to get them right now is to buy them with real money. You can buy them single or in 5 packs.

If they can be a reward in a random lunchbox, I've yet to experience this or hear of it.

Okay so on the Mr. Handy aspect, I now have 15 and found out that you may only send out 5 at a time... Why? Avoiding more performance issues maybe?

At least all my production floors are now auto collected! This is nice!

The Mister Handy is a great idea. But it suffer from another new feature, the Deathclaws. I'll explain this in details :

? Before, a player may put 2 gardians at the entrance of his Vault, and if they had great weapons (having both 20 or more damage power), the thiefs would never go into another room. Meaning that the player could just leave the game for a few minutes on without having to be scared of an attack.

? The Mister Handy would come in... handy there, since he could actually allow the player to continue to do so even more, since the player who would use it could just "heal" and "play" the game without having to collect. The player could, basically, play for hours and keep doing other things at the same time.

? But the Deathclaws changes everything. Now a player will open, collect, and then quit the game quickly, as the fear of staying online and being attack by the Deathclaws will forbid anyone to keep the game open more than necessary on their device, especially if they can't heal the dweller in case of attack. Meaning that the player won't pay for Mister Handys, as it is useless if the player doesn't keep the game open, and also made useless by the fact that the ressources obtained by the Handy Man will actually be stollen/eaten by the Deathclaws.

Now I know some of you actually paid for them, I would too. But if you can't keep the game open almost all the times anymore, they are a lot less usefull than they could have been before.

Like I just said, no you can't since your dwellers would be annihilated by Deathclaws and other dangers... But Mostly deathclaws.

LOL!

Yes and No! Remember that Deathclaws try to be leveled with the player. My son who just started his vault had a deathclaw attack and only 2 of his low level players died. The rest finished them off with nothing but measly laser pistols and assault rifles. Don;t fear the deathclaws, EMBRACE THEM!!! LOL!

So I've a question, how does one heal/repair a Mr. Handy? Does one wait until his health is depleted to apply this action? I'm sure if I was patient here I'd find the answer but just wondering?

But what will happen if you get multiples attacks (just 2 or 3) while away from the device ?

Also, I am unsure that the game level up correctly the Deathclaws with the level of the player, as my friend had 50 death in her vault on her first Deathclaws attack. Of course all of them had the best weapons she could find.

Actually, now thinking about it. It would be better if Mister Handy could heal the dwellers, while not being attacked as machine (but not fight the enemies either), and also revive them automaticaly.

If it was like this, then the player could really leave the game for dozens of minutes, and even hours, while using a Mister Handy on each floor, and that would make the in-app purchase of Mister Handy even more interesting.

So

So just remeber, thankfully you will not get any attack on your vault nor will you have any fires while you are away from your vault (unless for some weird reason you left your phone while the app was open)!

50 deaths! WOW! I don't want this sounding the wrong way so please do not take as such but if you are equipping your dwellers and vigilantly exploring wastes/managing your dwellers, you should have no problems with recouping from anything that is thrown at you! Place all heavy firepower on top where deathclaws will attack and make sure every dweller is at least exploring out in the wastes for no less than 60 hours (National Guard depot).

Hope this helps!

DEATHCLAWS will be destroyed!

But we are speaking of leaving the app open while away from the phone...

And the 50 deaths didn't happened to me, but I'm pretty sure my friend followed all the advices you just gave, since I taught her myself the exact same things.

Actually, I had a few Deathclaws attack by now, and I can say that

1 - Their attacks are too frequent. I play 5 minutes every half hour/1 hour and I am attacked by them each time (I hope this is random and won't continue like this)

2 - if I was not trying to heal the dwellers when the attack occurred, I would have a lots of death. Now I just had a few deaths each time (between 2 to 6)...

3 - All those attacks are making the dweller unhappy, and nothing has been added to the game to make them happy faster...

Basically, the more I think about it, the more I hate those attacks...

But we are getting out of the subject of Mr. Handy here !

I can empathize with you and the frustrations of seeing death and unhappiness in your vault but if this was not a factor, what would be the point of the game? I currently keep 3 fully loaded max stat etc, radio rooms which always keeps my vault happiness to a 99% unless multiple rush room failures happen but within minutes I'm back to 99% happiness. On top of this if you do not rush rooms then you will be attacked and very frequent.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree on the opinion of gameplay difficulty. I enjoy immersing myself into the fallout world and no matter what Bethesda game I play, I always start MAX difficulty for the slowest (to me the most fun for my buck) and most strategic gameplay. COD and other games are for the ones ready to rush through a game and say "YAH I beat it". To me Fallout, Skyrim, etc... are at their best modded with hardcoe highest difficulty settings. If you are not in agreeance here then yes, Fallout Shelter in it's current state is to much for the casual player.

Deathclaws are cool and Mr. Handy is useless. the guy who bought 15 of them wasted his money.

Wait, what ? Those are mandatory to delay/stop attacks ?!

Actually, I found out my friend was attacked by moles, not by deathclaws... So it is the moles that killed her 50 dwellers. I have yet to experience those moles...

Oh and, yes, I agree to disagree.

And also, your speech about difficulty sounds a little empty to me, since it is from someone who purchase so many Mr. Handy. At least if you kept them inside your vault, I wouldn't think so, but since you are sending them outside too... it is not only collecting automatically the ressources anymore, but it became some kind of pay to win... (I mean no insults here... But I read you all along, and you seems intelligent, so you understand it doesn't goes with the difficulty speech).

So what's the deal with the health bar on Mr Handy? When it reaches zero will he die or can we repair him?

LOL! With this logic all money spent on video games are a waste. Won't argue with you there. :twirl:

I'd rather spend my $12 on 15 Mr. Handy's then buy any game currently on sale for that amount.

MR. HANDY'S ROCK!!!

WOW! Really?

Ok, I am a really devoted fan of Fallout WORLD and if it made sense for my vault, I'd buy 15 more Mr. Handy's....LOL PAY TO WIN? Win what exactly? For crying out loud people enjoy the game or stop playing. Last time I checked Bethesda is not forcing you to play. Even I have my problems with the game in which I am very frustrated with (duplicate legendary dwellers) and I see that this game is very much a cash grab for the serious fallout enthusiasts. If one cannot accept the fact that Bethesda made this game to make alot of money then you shouldn't be spending money on video games period. All video game developers are in it for the money!

Fallout Shelter has it's flaws but this is a game I will be playing next year this same time (if I'm alive and don't really live in a nuclear wasteland). Probably 5 minutes everyday but still will be going for 100% collection in the survival guide. Yes I like it this much!!! :bunny: :bonk: :fallout:

When it's all said and done, lots of love to you Fuzzi and glad we could have this cool little fallout debate on this forum! God bless.

I had 10 lunchboxes waiting and after the update, I opened one and received a Mr Handy. So they are definitely in the lunchboxes.

It seems you also have a chance at an event in the wasteland if your explorer makes it to 75hrs. Wow, whoever made this spreadsheet is amazing. The detail is top notch.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Nai09D_aM2syl3iPP5hkveDcOUwhsoUDR6s1lwC0e8c/edit?usp=docslist_api go to Tab 7. Wasteland, and then scroll down to part 4. timed events.

Oh I totally agree on you on that part. Except I see Fallout Shelter more like a way to promote the upcoming Fallout 4, but Bethesda still got to get some money out of it.

The Deathclaws are baddies, they don't get their card in the lunch boxes
