I try to install oblivion. However, every time I do, it hangs up for /hours/ when it's on Meshes.bsa, and I cannot complete he installation. I've gone to sleep and woken up to it /still/ on meshes.bsa.

I've installed it on other, less powerful computers that could barely run the thing, if at all.

Check the disk. Clean as necessary. Also, cleaning the drive wouldn't hurt any either.

You may need to clean the DVD drive itself. There may be some lint on the mirror inside.

When you do get it installed, however, if your PC description is as limited as what you wrote, the game won't run. The single most important part inside of any game-capable computer apparently isn't part of that one you say is so good. You therefore may be disappointed1
