As the title says:
SETTLEMENT NUMBERS
In pipboy under the workshop "tab" (with people beds, food, water, power, defense, beds, happiness) when not in said settlement these numbers will be off occasionally, generally underreporting the amount. This is especially true for beds and defense now which in turn affects the overall happiness rating with this incorrect data. Not a new problem just one that was reported as fixed in the 1.03 patch and isn't.
Perhaps food, people and water were fixed but not beds and defense. (If other members here have had wrong numbers with people and/or water with this latest update [1.03] let me/us know.) If you have a recruit beacon on then inevitably the number of people will go up and I'm pretty sure if your settlement is attacked settlers can die, so these two things will affect the number of people, so take this into account before deciding since you lost 1 person it's a glitch when they could of just been attacked and died.
DAMAGED CROPS
Also when a crop is damaged you should be able to repair it by pressing X, but all this does (for me) is take that particular crop from my inventory, leaving the damaged crop still damaged and nonassignable to any settler (at least with tato plants anyway, haven't had any other type of crop damaged yet). I'm not sure if 1.03 specifically target this problem or not by reading the changelog,but here's what1.03/1,3 fixed in terms of keywords: crop, repair, damage
- Repairing items will now correctly consume resources
- Fixed an issue with crops appearing destroyed after saving and reloading
Since when I press X for the repair it takes that crop from my inventory I don't think "Repairing items will now correctly consume resources" was a problem for me but this probably has to do with repairing armor, etc. The 2nd thing I mentioned in the changelog i think was purely just the aesthetics of the crop and had nothing to do with it actually being damaged.
So as far as I can tell the 1.03 patch didn't even address the issue of damaged crops.
Some of the fixes that were used even before the 1.03/1.3 patch were:
Happiness, physically walk out of settlement before fast traveling and/or get rid of all your tv sets
Damaged crops, have really looked for a temp fix as this hasnt really bother me too much until now
