Me so happy!

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 6:45 pm

I got pretty mad when I heard that Skyrim was coming out on 11 11 11. Not because it was far away and I'm impatient, but because of the timing of that date in my life. The next fall semester of college is going to be the most crazy hard and horribly busy time period I've had up to date. And Skyrim's going to come out during that? Come on! I'd prefer Skyrim to come out during the summer so I actually have some time to play before I don't have time to even sleep. Now your probably wondering why your reading nothing but complaints in a topic titled "Me so happy!". Well I'll tell why me so happy. It's due to the fact that I just found out that 11 11 11 is a Friday! That means I'll have about 48 hours of pure non-stop Skyrim joy. Looks like I'm going to be able to play the game before I die after all.

Now on to some actual meaningful discussion. Were/are any of you also disappointed at the release date due to bad timing.

Lolz. 48 hours non-stop doesn't sound good to me, some people died literally playing WOW.
For me 11.11.11 is not good or bad, it's just memorable and cool. I'll be as busy as any other part of the year, but I'll make time to play some 3-4 hours each night.

Ya, I wish I had more time but that's all I got. I think my record for non-stop gamings is like 65 hours, so it's not best I've ever done. O'well I'll take what I can get.

Although it would be nice for skyrim to be released right after summer begins, but It makes more sense to a producer to release it during a popular time of year. The two choices are Sept/Nov; right before a major holiday, or secondly right before/after summer. Now think of it like this, you will have more time to work on it if it's released later, and people are more willing to spend on certain times of the year. So from a gamers perspective: summer all the way, from a producers perspective: winter all the way? Now with extra time and money, the game will be better and future games will be better! So it's a win-win, when it's released on a friday!

Dude you're in college, you shouldn't be making mistakes like using "Where" at the wrong time...

Also 'your' is used incorrectly, while we're being grammar police.

65 hours?! You'd think after 5 or 6 you'd have worked out why some people just don't get laid....

11/11/11 will pretty much coincide with the end of term wind-down and christmas hols so I'm gonna be probably seshing 3-5 hours a night. All in all I'm happy with the release date, worst time ever would have been april/may when I should be revising for my final yr13 exams. Damn the witcher 2 for coming out in may....

Hey, I had to stay up for at least 48 hours for a medical procedure, so I decided to play video games to keep myself awake. It worked perfectly.

P.S. If you think RE 4 isn't scary try playing it when your delusional form sleep deprivation.

Grammar was the start of that sentence, so it should also be capitalized.

Hehe I was only teasing. When they put me in hospital I was stuck playing a 3+ game where you're a dolphin on the PS2 for hours on end. Fun times...

Grammar is at the beginning of the sentence, so it should have a capital letter as well.

im not upset at the date at all, infact im surprised it was less than a year away when skyrim was announced... its only a bad release date for a handful of unlucky people like you.

hope you listen well to this... if you got your wish and the game came out this summer... guess what? they'd have to drop ALOT of work on the game, meaning things would get cut out, the game would be left unfinished, and it would probably be nearly unplayable, so you'd be screaming about that, next...

i get tired of seeing people complaining about release dates, because they want the game sooner just for their own selfish reasons, and that is what makes games get dropped, and they shatter like a dinner plate, then bethesda had to glue it all together in a matter of minutes and hand it to us... then it falls apart once we start using it.

the release date isnt unfortunate for me AT ALL... infact, its a good release date, because tons of games are coming out this year that im getting, and skyrim is at the end of the line, basically... so that saves me from having to juggle skyrim with 20 other games.

I actually hoped that Skyrim would come out later than 11-11-11. The more time they work on it, the better. But since 11-11-11 is a unique date (all numbers are 1), I think it's fine.

The Elder Scrolls V: Black Marsh, 22-22-22?

I understand your problem but they're not finished with the game, so that basically eliminates the chance of an earlier release date.

Sir I take issue with your use of a comma before "so". As "so" is a connective in its own right the preceding comma is redundant. (:

EDIT: For the record I don't actually care and I hate grammar nazis.

O' I prefer a complete game that comes out later to an incomplete game that comes out now. I don't want another Empire: Total War fiasco. I'm actually not complaining about the date it's self, I'm just complaining about the timing of the date compared to my life.

I'd have thought 12/12/12 would be slightly better as its closer to christmas, out of school/uni/work time and would give them another month (and a day!) to get it shiny and polished, just so they don't have to go down the embarassing "day one patch" road.

While I would prefer 6/3/11 for a release date, 11/11/11 doesn't bother me. To the OP, you could always wait until next summer to play the game when all the patches and possibly a DLC or two have been released. Of course then you run the risk of not having completed the game 3 times before the apocalypse happens. Up to you I suppose.
