I don't understand why you would be on a forum for a game you weren't going to buy. I'm not going to buy the next Modern Warfare game, so I'm not on that forum. Is it just to complain about the game? Is that necessary?
Because BGS won't listen to complaints in this game are made silently or on other forums? We complained wildly about certain things, some of which have already been (somewhat - if enough remains to be seen) addressed. Even if some of the things we complain about doesn't make it to release day, they might setup the needed data structures to support such ideas in the future, like making things easier for modders or plan some DLC strategies.
Personally, I'm on the fence. I know I will get it, but being quick about it is no longer a priority. Unless I read otherwise after release, there appears to be too much stuff that needs to be addressed by mods before I think I can actually enjoy this fully. I did the mistake of playing FONV without hardcoe the first playthrough, and it ruined the game for me. Why? Because it added so much extra fun and things to consider, and when I did activate it for the next playthrough, I felt I already new the game inside out - I've done most quests, visited just about every place the game had to offer. Doing a completely new character build focusing on other skills, and being able to go an alternate main story route, helped of course on replayability. At least for me, it's impossible to unlearn what I know from earlier experience, even if I try to.
Some of the people that claim to hate Oblivion put over 1000 hours into playing it. :blink:
Well, I haven't counted hours, but I guess I qualify kinda sorta. What other good alternatives are there? My requirements:
* Non japanese in style.
* Not too high fantasy (MW and SI was a bit over the top, although I enjoyed MW somewhat).
* 1st person is an absolute must, unless party based (but I'm kind of tired of party based).
* Awesome lore and above average quests.
* Randomized, with high replay value, or an insane amount of time to play through everything. Daggerfall had some of it, has been limited since.
* Huge scale and scope (recent TES games fails this, skyrim may have the scope, but is it correct scope, but scale I can't believe).
* Great visual character customization. It
shouldn't matter to me, yet it does. TES is midlevel, I assume it will improve.
* Massively supported by mod SDKs and have a good modding community.
What are my choices?
