Hard Burglaries?

Post » Mon Jan 03, 2011 8:33 pm

Would you love to see some super hard places that you could break into sutch as: Banks, Manors, Estates, Clubs And Other great places.
And this would mean many hard locks, Lots and lots (like 20) of Guards with a Captain, complex system and ofcourse GREAT cash, item and respect among the criminal community Prices.
Traps might be a little off (Have you ever seen a bank with spikes coming from floor?)
Also these big cashy places would mean that you might have to take a tour or steal blueprints or pribe a guard or an employee to get information.
These places should slowly re cash itself and they would hire new better guards to defend it.

Then there might be some middle rated places too: Just robbed banks :P second class rich people etc.

And the richest places would also mean that there will be many fellow thiefs also planning their own movements, alone or in teams.
So that would make a possibility to team up with an expiriensed thief to increase your possibility to rob the place.

I agree that this would increase the possibilities and fun of being a thief or other criminal character. You'll be on the wrong side of the law to start with once again, so for the heck of it, we may as well be recidivists.

There should also be an increased number of places worth robbing. I'd like to get tempted sooner or later. :whistling:

While I love your ideas, they'd only appeal to me if I wasn't guided through it. For instance, if I went to a government office and the bank plans were laying out on the table - without a quest marker - so I could put some of my own pieces together. It's more theif-like

I'd love it if important places were heavily guarded and it would be very diffacult to break in unnoticed, and even harder to have to fight or run your way out if you ended up getting caught.

The important part is the existence of such a place. It'd be fun even with just regular patrols. In Oblivion, the most exciting place to rob was the bedroom of the castles, which was nothing compared to the Great House Vaults...Though,a mod for Oblivion called "Modular Oblivion Enhanced" had a quest where you could get in and eventually rob the White Gold Tower, and it was the most fun robbing I have ever done.

I love your idea. My only worry is that Stealth characters don't get much love this time around. Maybe it's just a bad feeling. I would love added depth to playing a stealth role though. Being able to case the place for a period of time. Really learn schedules, slip something into the food being delivered, wear a disguise to gain access, find a trap door thru a sewer or roof. The possibilities are there, we'll just have to see if they get implemented.

Two or three locations peppered across the expanse of the game world that were so intricately guarded, sealed, and locked with puzzling traps and highly intelligent NPC patrols; to the point that it made them nearly impossible to effectively breach would be great for any aspiring master thieves out there.

I like the idea.

Yes please, I'd love it if burglaring would be a valid alternative to dungeon grinding for leveling/getting money.

Well, obviously you wouldn't want to do that since you'd wind up spending anything you might have earned selling what you stole to pay off your bounty.

Edit:

Shouldn't this be in the sixual diversity thread? :D
