Key binding is really bad in that game. I'm used to move the usual WASD to ESDF, and it's real mess. There is a lot of "hidden" keys that are hardcoded.

Just shifting the movement key by one key to the right will results in a lot of problems, such as :

- Going forward will loot/grab things.

- In build mode, you can only move backward and left ...

- Impossible to transfer items with a power armor.

- VATS target/parts selection with keyboard is impossible to use.

Anyway to change this binds in a config file or something ?

Accessing the hidden binds seems to be even harder than Skyrim, which needed mods to work correctly.

I and others are using Autohotkey to rebind the keys, leaving the default binds but changing what happens when you hit the key. It's still clumsy and you have to disable it to type character or item names.

Hopefully the modders will have something soon, keep an eye on the Fallout Nexus forums as well.

I suspect these keys are hardcoded in the menus, which appear to be individual flash files... so I would be surprised if an official patch fixed this.

Support the first thread tho... they clearly need to fix their horrific keybinding, that's should NOT BE the modder "job" to fix crap like that
