hardcoe Mode "Award" should be clarified for the mas

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 10:24 am

Most of us on the forum already know that the reward for sticking to hardcoe Mode for the entire game is an achievement/trophy. But the thing is, the hardcoe Mode prompt in-game implies that the award is in-game, or at least other people might see it that way.

What do you think?

I agree. I forsee a lot of complaints at the end, about how they beat NV using hardcoe mode, but all they got was a lousy achievement/trophy and not something like a million caps.

You get a in game shirt.
I don't think it's ambiguous or that this required a entirely new thread.

I don't see what the big fuss is about with some people... play hardcoe, beat it, get your achievement/trophy and do a touchdown dance :intergalactic: forget about an "award"

I don't think he was being serious. Lol but it would be like, "I beat fallout new vegas on hardcoe mode and all i got was this lousy t-shirt" type shirt.

Idc, tbh. I'm just happy they have such a thing as 'hardcoe mode'.

I get that but like I said the prompt actually says "award" so if people who don't know its a trophy wouldn't necessarily forget about it.

Well thankfully its worded "award" so a Trophy/Achievement makes sense, but if it was "reward"... then you would have some angry people.

Now that you mention it, it would be nice if you DID get said T-shirt if you chose Wild Wasteland at the beginning of your next game after completing hardcoe mode.

It should also replace the underwear t-shirt too.

I laughed pretty hard when you posted that, i think it would been a really cool WW perk.

I don't think it should be known yet. I mean its so much better if it is a surprise.

I think "award" is clear enough. It makes me think of trophies not necessarily in game stuff. I will be playing hardcoe and I think the hardcoe is a reward by itself.

It should also replace the underwear t-shirt too.

Actually, that's a better idea, that it replaces the underwear shirt on all WW-equipped savefiles, including the one you're playing, so if you reload your savefile from the point of no return save, you can still go traipsing around in your underwear with your silly shirt in your silly wasteland.

The award is knowing that you challenged yourself to complete a game on a difficult mode

Spoiler
However, those who realize that is the only reward, aside from the trophy, and start to whine about it will then receive a new reward: A self destruct sequence that will destroy their PC or Console (or in some cases both at the same time regardless of whether or not the game is in the PC and or console) within 10 seconds of their whining.

The reward is personal satisfaction you beat hardcoe mode. Not satisfied? Well then you just arent hardcoe enough to truly appreciate that award.

hardcoe will be it's own reward.

That still doesn't keep me from wishing that there was an NCR t-shirt avatar reward for completing the game on hardcoe.

We play Fallout games for rewards now? I thought we played them for the thrill of exploring, for the story, if for nothing else the shoulder mounted nuclear catapult.

This. hardcoe adds a greater challenge and a degree of realism that's reward enough for me.
