That a mode few actually used wasn't worth developing.

Whatever evidence you might be basing your assumption off of.. there still might be hope. Skyrim received a Legendary difficulty after the game is released, this could be the case for Fallout 4.

"If it's not "It just works" get rid of it entirely" seems to be their mentality.

More like "if it's obsolete and pointless, replace it." "hardcoe" mode, wasn't very hardcoe at all. More like slight annoyance- barely noticeable mode. Food, and water needs? I always used food and water to heal.... Sleep? Nuka cola and sunset sarsaparilla negated that need. Ammo having weight? Never carried enough ammo to notice. Companions being killed was the only really game changer, and that was merely annoying...

Personally I love survivor mode. But I think even if Bethesda spent the time to put it into the game, it's something I'd end up getting a mod for anyways. Mods just give more flexibility to configure how I want survivor mode to work in my play through (and I'm sure I'm not the only one that tweaks a lot of the options available in these mods).

Survival Mode might just be 'Extremely, EXTREMELY hard level'.

Still, I never bothered with hardcoe Mode, and believe me, I tried using it. Thirst and hunger just became one more thing to worry about like radiation, not the desperate 'Oh God, I need to do this or I die!!'

I'd prefer no hardcoe mode over a poorly-implemented one, and NV's just wasn't that good. So go get a change of underwear, dry those tears, and wait for mods haha. It's going to be okay.

YOUR OPINION!

Stop saying that like you have any evidence to back it up. hardcoe mode was extremely popular.

More people finished the game on hardcoe without ever shutting it off than pick pocketed 50 people, and half as many people modded 20 weapons.

Don't act like you speak for anyone else with your opinion.

I thought the new survival mode thing was the Fallout 4 version of hardcoe mode, with the exception of the companions not dying.

More like "if it needs fixing get rid of it instead". Only thing that really needed fixing was the tedious food, sleep, and water meters but ammo weight, heal over time stimpacks and killable companions were good changes and added more to the game.

If they're just gonna half-ass it like NV sure, I'm fine with it being gone but imagine how much it would add to the overall game if they took the time to fix some of the problems and realize the full potential of this mode instead of just getting rid of it entirely.

Did I hurt your fragile sensibilities? So more people bothered to hit the option at the beginning of the game to switch it to "hardcoe" mode, than actively go out of their way to successfully pick pocket, which is the only thing that counts toward the achievement.... and didn't bother to spend their caps on weapon mods, or only bought enough to mod their favorite guns.

Killable companions where more of a problem that Hard-core mode. Heal Over time u still get that on Fallout 4. Ammon Weight we dont know, Food Water and Sleep are out.

"It just works".

In all seriousness its not like there won't be mods for this. Mods will most likely implement a more superior hardcoe mode than beth would.

Are you basing that off the Steam global achievement stats? Because, ignoring the part where they're not an entirely accurate record, it shows a relatively tiny 4.6% did a full hardcoe run. So, yeah. Probably not a stat you want to quote in support of your position.

I rather they leave it to modders. Just look at the mods they they made for skyrim, and all kinds to suit your taste for however realistic you want it. lets face it, it isnt so much "hardcoe" as making the game more realistic. Even console users cant complain because I am pretty certain even they will get a hardcoe mod.

Modders will always make a hardcoe mode far better than anything than Bethesda can ever make.
