I doubt anyone does this unless they really love paying Papa Khan a visit every 8 hours, seeing how he's got the only toilet you can sit on.

There are out houses. Sandwich Head sat in one today. The one in Sloan. it was just for fun. But normally? No.

How would going number 1 or 2 make you loose rads?

My courier is an advanced lifeform, he is above the need to defecate in holes.

My Courier pulls out his package and blazes the trail as he runs down the road.

Some rads, not all.

I did it on one playthrough because I was curious to see:

1) How scarce water and food became if travel took longer.

2) How important the character felt on a dead-is-dead playthrough if every step taken actually took a decent amount of time, meaning their death would be HORRIBLE.


Water and food and sleep actually did end up being harder to come by, for a while. I remember getting dehydrated to the third level once and doing a dungeon with sleep deprivation, which I'd never done before. The character DID actually feel more fulfilling and realistic too. I wasn't winning 3 different battles in a single day's time.


Honestly though, I doubt I could do it on another playthrough. Once was enough.
Besides, the Courier is a....well he's a friggin' Courier. He of all RP rolls would be used to running everywhere: it's his job.

We RPers are gonna have trouble using that same reasoning if the protagonist of Fallout 5 is called "the Slacker" or something, though. :sadvaultboy:

I don't even see freeform roleplayers using toilets UNLESS it is plot-related or makes the story interesting.


So I might feign the need in certain situations to make things a little bit more interesting but... we don't read about it in books so why would everyone roleplay it?

you could add it as a feature to hardcoe mode:

If you don't use a toilet once every 3 game hours you get a message - 'You've just p****d / and or / cr****d yourself, -1 agility while you dry your pants out, or change into another outfit.

I think this could work... : )

Don't you think -2 Charisma would be more appropriate?

- 2 charisma and a new animation of your character waddling round with wet trousers.

My character always just drops his trowsers and goes wherever he's standing. Got me kicked out of the Ultra Lux one time but whatever, those cannibals are stuck up anyway....
