hardcoe Roleplaying in Skyrim?

Allow me to explain this roleplay idea. In Oblivion, I would roleplay various characters, using ideas from the uesp wiki site. There are all kinds of ideas, such as count, vampire, guard, vampire hunter, assassin, etc. Some ideas were kind of boring. I tried the guard idea, but it was kind of boring considering the idea that I spent all my time patrolling Anvil. I obtained the Anvil guard armor, having a schedule for patrolling the city of Anvil. Other ideas were really fun, like the vampire or vampire hunter, or the assassin. For an assassin, you didn't have to only follow the guild quests, but you could pretend to be given assignments, and stalk victims. As a vampire hunter, there was a small group of vampire hunters, where you could sell your vampire dust for a nice profit. I found this to be extremely fun, as much of your time would be spent exploring dungeons for 'signs' of vampire infestation.

Right now, I am playing through the main quest of Oblivion, which I've never done. But after, I'm going to roleplay the life of my character. His name is Azaro Inventius, an imperial, and son of Pinarus Inventius.
Later: After he helps Martin stop the Oblivion invasion, he joins the Imperial Legion, becoming a Captain. He makes raids on forts and ruins around the Imperial City containing maurauders and bandits with a Battlehorn Man at Arms, and Castellan Athon, (followers that come with Fighter’s Stronghold).
-10 years after Oblivion Crisis-for his dedication to the Empire and as the Champion of Cyrodiil, he is given Battlehorn Castle and becomes lord of all the villages/settlements, gaining the title ‘Lord Protector of Cyrodiil’, including both governance of smaller settlements and their protection from bandits and maurauders.
-Azaro Inventius marries Rosa Benanius (Battlehorn Castle maid)
-Lord Protector is only 3rd in power to the Emperor, advising the Chancellor on important matters.
-He collects taxes (thru item duplication & selling) and protects the settlements by raiding forts, ruins, and caves, and will even takes favors from villagers (village sidequests).
-He travels extensively to report to the Emperor and the Elder Council and meets with Counts and Countesses.
-For hobby and vacation, the Lord Protector Inventius enjoys hunting, staying in towns, betting on the Arena, camping near the water in the wilderness, etc.
-Also, to help Cyrodiil seem very large, I set up time scales, such as 3 days between Anvil and Skingrad, 2 days from Skingrad to Imperial City, 3 days from Imperial City to Chorrol. I allow time to pass by waiting during my travels, and ‘sleeping’ in the wilderness at night.

And, on Skyrim, look at these gameplay features and how they could be utilized into roleplaying.
-With the cooking, farming, mining, blacksmithing, there is so much potential.
-You could roleplay a chef, cooking the finest meals, and searching the countryside and in dungeons for the finest ingredients.
-With farming, you could roleplay a farmhand (hopefully they will allow you to own your own farm) –but even if not, you could just kill the owners and pretend its your farm.
-As a miner, you could mine ore and sell it to blacksmiths.
-As a blacksmith, you could smith weapons and armor to sell to blacksmiths.

-A final suggestion could be roleplaying an Imperial soldier in Skyrim, helping guard the way into Morrowind.

So, looking at my examples of roleplaying in Oblivion, and considering roleplaying possibilities for Skyrim, will you roleplay, what characters will you roleplay? Also, will you play as if your character has to take care of needs (eat, drink, and sleep)?

*Remember, my definition of roleplaying does not mean just putting yourself in the role of the ‘hero of kvatch’ or ‘champion of cyrodiil.’ It also means looking at the dynamics, politics, culture, and personality of the world, and creating a character in that world that would be fun to personify. This is what I love about the Elder Scrolls, and why no other game has enthralled me as much as this series. And that is, by providing nearly endless imagination of the player.

After the couple of games after getting a handle on the game I will roleplay.
As to what / who, to early to say...

However Osmundas Hlaalu that I played in Oblivion would be fun.
A crazy, insane, Dunmer noble.
Who would rather collect gems, Dunmer women, undead, daedra, and lettuce, than go around saving the world.
No armour, only light blades, all talk, some charms in magic.
Goals, to stay alive, awake and hopefully naked.
Politics, no taxation on lettuce, and the dropping of laws in certain uses of it.
Culture, anyone that's not a Dunmer is scum, anyone not born on Morrowind is scum.. Oh look legs.
Combat: please not the face.

As far as I'm concerned, when ever I am playing a game, I'm role playing. I don't feel a need to make the game into a job by doing something like pretending to be a guard in a town that will NEVER be attacked.

I don't get nearly as into it as some people. I don't even give my characters names, I just label them what they are. I just pick an idea and go with it. Right now I am doing a short swords and bows file that has a modded cave house (just a bed and some storage). He has never entered a main city and only lives off what he finds in caverns. Fun as hell.

Uh, these are role playing games, not to role play would kinda defeat the point :P

Of course I will always 'hardcoe' roleplay any RPG.

You guys might be interested in this thread.

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1165099-self-inflicted-hardcoe-mode/

Agreed that RPGing to the next level in games is FUN (if you are so inclined this way). Personally, MW was the TES game for me where I did this to the extreme, creating backstories, sequence of quests, etc, etc, etc.

Hopefully there will be an available 'hardcoe' mode in Skyrim, much like Fallout NV, 'cos that would be totally badass for us RP peeps. Also, adding in (most) of those 'Self Inflicted' rules would be so much fun. Having to hunt/prepare meals and provisions, set up camp each night (I'd love it if when you went to sleep in the wilderness you could set up a camp similar to Red Dead Redemption, but it did not function like the interective menu that game had, rather as a location that spawned on your resting site. Thus you could be attacked by scavenging animals, then have to defend your camp etc, very cool. Or, for those who like to be less conspicuous in the wilderness, just a small mat roll to sleep on), have a trade for income etc.

9 months to go... It's gonna be hard.

I agree. And with the idea that roleplaying is nerdy, my question is: Why is having a wild imagination nerdy?

Because, let's face it. Most of us who enjoy roleplaying in games, especially roles the game did not mean us to do, are only allowing our imaginations to soar.

TO Feronasu: I have followed the topic you posted, and I must say. I think there is a strong possiblity that there will be a hardcoe mode considering the fact Bethseda is looking at things in other mods/games. I think that since it was in Fallout NV (I know, it was not made by Betheseda), such a hardcoe mode has a decent chance of making it into Skyrim.
