i recently purchased hardwar: the future is greedy for pc. im running windows xp home edition. i'm having problems running the game. my cursor clicks on my desktop instead of clicking in the game, causing the game to minimize. i dont know what the problem is and i cannot fix it. everytime i try to click what type of plane to start with and it puts me back to my desktop. most irritating... can anyone help me?

first of all, it's best to upgrade to the newest patch for Hardwar - version UIM 06. Here's a link to the download page: http://zedo.hardwar.org.uk/dexdown.htm it's called 'Ian Martin's UIM 6 Patch'.

Make sure to:
-under display, select one of the graphic options. If one doesn't work, try the other.
-Set resolution to that of your screen.

It's quite an awesome game, I remember playing it years ago. Still my favourite.

Also, out of curiosity, where did you manage to get your hands on Hardwar 10 years after it's release?

First of all, it's best to not answer after two years.

I think it's nice that the thread was resurrected and an answer provided.

While it helps, after 2 years, it's unlikely that the person will come back, problem unsolved.

Someone else could be having the same issue somewhere down the line and find the answer helpful.

I am about to apply the patch, and will post a reply as to if it resolves or not.


I have played this game a FEW times and love the randomness of it. It brings me back every couple of years, but this is the first time (since XP) that I have had this problem.

That patch works great as well as adds more content. DO EET!!!
