Hardware/Software Issue?

Post » Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:00 am

Hey Guise. I'm running the game in "Extreme"(Lol.....) and have noticed that textures(Various) on vehicles look like play station one graphics, and the clothes on characters look like they are melted on their skin/look like they are wearing suits made of badly spread peanut butter, lol. Just wondering if I'm the only one or if there are others who have this problem/know what I'm talking about. :O

I'm hoping it is not my hardware...

AMD Phenom ii x6 1055t - Processor
2x4GB(8GB) RAM @ 1600MHZ Corsair xms3
ATI HD6850 x 2 XFire - GPU
MSI 870A Fusion - MoBo
Windows 7 Home x64 - OS

...I have Xfire disabled, unfortunately.

Provide a picture so we can better judge, without it, it might just be crappy textures on some objects...

^Enough said. No I am not saying your gpus svck (I AM an Nvidia person though.), but I have been hearing that Crossfire/Sli has not been working on Crysis 2. Hopefully a patch will be released.

You need to tweak your Crossfire settings. You get either peanut butter people (sort of like DXTweaker looking stuff) or flickering. Just play around with your settings in CCC. btw I think NVIDIA has better drivers but ATI has better cards. Not a fan of either here. (I've used both)

Agreed. I'm not really racist toward either company, I just go with what's in my pocket.

I can only assume the bulges on his jacket are a satchel and grenade of some sort. If you still can't see any evidence of what I am talking about, I can annotate them. Lol.

Pretty much the same on my Rig for texture looks.. It is NOT your hardware freind. Its the rendering engine. its only running DX 9 , and even then the textures being used for a lot of the assets are very much reduced, this is neccassary for performance on the PS3 and 360. It is a port , so this should not really be a surprise.
