Actor Harold Ramis has passed away from us at the age of 69. Most may remember him for his role in "Ghostbusters" as Egon.

That is a wicked bummer. He was a very clever comedic writer.

Very sad. He was involved with tons of iconic film and TV projects from my childhood/young advlthood. I've always read/heard that he was a great guy, too.

Directed and co-wrote. :(

He did a lot more than Ghostbusters. He was actually a lot more prolific as a writer and director than he ever was as an actor.

Heck, he wrote Animal House and Meatballs. Directed Vacation, one of my top favorite comedies ever. Very talented man. I'm sad to see him go but what a great career.

I just watched two shows on the background of Caddyshack and Vacation. I knew Mr Ramis was more behind the camera than in front of it, but I did not know his full contributions to the movies. I enjoy his humor and insight.

RIP Harold, you will be missed.

Funny thing I was just playing the Ghost Busters 2009 video game last night then read this in the morning. Was hoping for the third official Ghostbusters movie directed by him.

I actually felt more bummed about this than Philip Seymour Hoffman, maybe that shows I am shallow. But his stuff meant more to me somehow.

Very nearly my favourite comedy. Just such a clever funny guy, what a shame he's gone.

Fave Ghostbusters quotes -

Ray: You mean you never even had a Slinky?

Egon: We had part of Slinky. But I straightened it.

...human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - MASS hysteria!
