Hey guys I'm new to the forums.

I have been getting into Fallout New Vegas a bit and been having a decent time so far besides dealing with frequent glitches and random crashes/freezes. At first I was storing my items in the run down Schoolhouse in the first village in one of the storage lockers. It's not the greatest place anymore because every time I fast travel I have to trek across town just to get to it and go back again to get to the benches or fireplace.

Once I found Harper's shack the other day I was planning on grabbing my stuff together and bringing it over there to store in the lockers and figured out it would be a good place to use for now.
I wasn't sure if I could store the items in there without them dissapearing because I read in the Strategy Guide not to leave items in other peoples houses or they might not be there the next time you check. But as far as I know nobody even lives there because it's empty every time I go there.

tl;dr : Can I store items in Harper's Shack safely?
