Has anyone ever actually seen a BOS VBird Land?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 10:17 am

I see them crashing all over the place - not once have i seen one land (except for a mission it was taking me to , thank god)

What about you guys? Is a Vbird landing a myth like the lochness monster? everyone claims it can happen but has anyone actually seen it ??? 0.o

Only ever see them in the air, fighting things. Or on the ground, in several pieces, in the aftermath of fighting things..

I had one spin out of control and crash right on me and almost killed me.

I haven't actually seen one land, but I have seen where they have landed and troops getting off.

If you see one shooting from the air and rush over to help you can save them from crashing.

Dogs? What dogs? The BoS has dogs? I know they have kittens but didnt know they had dogs.

And when I went to battle a Super mutant-held Waste treatment plant one came and started minigunning the installation. After it was over I discovered that I had had help from a scribe and the PA-equipped knight who was babysitting him. When the dust cleared it landed for the two guys to get on. HIlariously it happened twice as a late arriving super mutant forced it back into the air to circle with the scribe onboard while the slow-poke knight and i finished the mutant off meaning it had to land a second time for the knight to finally get onboard.

I can't believe anyone would want to join the BoS. Imagine...

"Paladin. Your first air patrol happens tonight. Are you excited?"

"Uh, sir, can we talk about this? I helped Danse. I took out Deathclaws. Fought and survived Mirelurk Queens. But no way in hell are you putting me into a guaranteed suicide mission. I've never seen one of these land on its own. By the time they do hit the ground, they're on fire and everyone is dead. Force me to go and I'll quit right now."

"Paladin! How dare you speak.... uh... yeah, you're right. Say, want to head north and clear out a Chameleon Deathclaw camp? Bring me back some eggs."

"Sure thing, sir. See you in the morning with fresh eggs."

Fort Strong, took out all the enemies from the air, pilot says "I'm going to find a place to set her down" and then proceeds to lose control and crash. Barely survived in T-60 PA.

I've seen them land all the time and troops get out, I've also seen them occasionally hover low and "Airdrop" power armor troops, very cool to see them slamming the ground.

I've had BOS gunships help defend settlements under attack, really cool. First time it happened I had just arrived at the Starlight when a big bunch of raiders came in from four sides, was a real fight...then came the sound of a vertibird over the ridgeline, and it comes over and started circling above the Starlight brassing up the raiders, then slipped out and chewed up some stragglers before heading off down the valley towards Bedford. All it needed was 'ride of valkyries' on audio and it would have been perfect.

I've also seen them jump-drop, and I've seen mixed teams on the ground, no dogs though, and no vertibird landings that I recall.

I have seen 2 land. The 3rd was already parked when I fast traveled somewhere, so...that doesn't really count, but there it is.

The rest did their spinning death dives.

The majority just look like they are about to have seizures when they get ready to land.

Also who here wants to see GUNSHIP Veritibirds? It would be nice for the Brotherhood to give us USEFUL perks. At least the minutemen will come to your aid. All the Brotherhood offers is a glorified taxi service.

Seen one land several times, including twice right in front of the gate of the Starlight Drive-in. They drop of patrols of 4-5 BoS units.

First time I saw one land was like.... 0.o

EDIT: On the subject of dogs, yes I've seen BoS patrols with dogs and today I saw a Minutemen patrol with a dog :)

I've seen one or two landed. At a distance, fighting at another location.

well im glad they land at least

i always wondered just how many Vbirds the BOS had to spare- ive literally had them raining from the sky my entire playthrough- blowing up left and right- lucky the soldiers usually make it out and help when im in a fight, but its still sad to see :*(

i saw a Gunner VBird in the southern part of the map and chased it for a while hoping to see it land- but it just started shooting me and eventually it blew up too

the carnage is real, lil friends

Same. Most recently near Bunker Hill. PA troops then went on quite a killing spree. Shadowed them for a bit hoping I might get some PA but they didn't die and ran out of stuff to shoot.
