Don't even bother playing the PS3 port. I played over 80 hours, file over 11 MBs and can't even play it anymore. Patch 1.2 corrupted my file too and I was forced to delete it. I started a new file, yet this patch brought a lot of new crashes and more lags. Have fun playing a broken game... *sighs*

I've played approximately 85 hours of Skyrim on my fat PS3 and haven't had any major issues. I've had exactly 2 hard freeze ups where I had to restart the system, and I haven't run into any game-breaking bugs. There are some graphical and specific quest related glitches, but I'd assume most of those are present on all systems.

I'm on a new PS3, as my old one stopped reading discs, and it was fine until 10 MB, when it started lagging badly. I patched and have been fine since.

Have you experienced any of the bugs mentionned though? Magic resistence, dragons flying backward and many crashes here and there?

Im at 280 hours into the ps3 version and just recently started having even more fun since i have been playing on master difficulty. At first the game would lag after about a half an hour of play, but after the patch it doesnt do that anymore. All in all im having a blast with this game.

I see. I had 74 hours, file was around 12K MB, had 39 dragon souls absorbed, 3-4 shouts unlocked, completed the Companions quest line and was almost done with the Thieves Guild when the patch game and killed my auto-saves and my manual save. I felt down for a week, then lost all interest in restarting the game.

Other than the game randomly resetting when I asked for a room at the Bannered Mare everything's been fine so far. It also froze on a load screen once, causing the PS3 to chastise me for not properly turning it off, even though I did. 40gb PS3. One of the old big ones.

My PS3 (120GB) game is going fine but I haven't reached the extremely large file size yet. The only backward flying dragon I have is the one at the hot springs area with the mammoths and giants. I tried to fight him but gave up because it's just too sad. I'm doing the other quests until the next patch that will fix him. The rest of the dragons behave normally so far. I have no crashing at all and it's running very smoothly. It did load the 1.2 patch when I loaded the game after putting my PC version on hold because I don't want the patch on it.

Having said that, my PS3 version of Oblivion does get hit with the A-bomb (animation lag) and I have to play that game and keep it under 365 game days to avoid the lag that hit me after over 300 hours on my first-ever game of Oblivion. That wasn't a problem for me though once I knew what to do and I love the game; I just have to make that adjustment with it. It shouldn't happen I know, but it does. I have switched to PC now because I find it less limiting and I can use mods.

I have to point this out. You keep saying your file got corrupted. Please don't say you only had one save. With a Bethesda game you should have at least 10 files saved, at least. I have around 4 on my ps3 but that just because it seem the more I have the more the game lags. Probably has nothing to do with it but for some reason it is working for me. That's just 4 on the actual ps3. I have close to 20 on a flash drive and every night my ps3 backs up my 4 onto cloud. So I'm looking at close to 40 saves. That may be much but honestly you can't go wrong doing that with a new Bethesda game.

To the OP. Let me be real with you. The is broken. Some people are very very, and I mean very lucky and have no problems. Then there are the majority and believe me we suffer, the game becomes unplayable. It freezes all the time and eventually what happens to some people is it will destroy your ps3. It can happen, it does happen. As for bugs I have never seen so many. Dragons fall out of the sky for no reason, they fly backwards, there are quite a few game breaking bugs. One I encountered was in the thieves guild quests. I cannot go any further into the guilds quests, it's broken. Just make sure you do NOT break into the black briar meadery. That's all I'll say about that.

Yes this game is crap for playing because of bugs. Yes it makes me so angry and I almost break my ps3 everytime because I want to kick it. Yes I've lost many many hours of gameplay because of broken quest. But here is the kicker, I LOVE IT! I will try and do anything to play it. It's fantastic and I will continue to play it even with all the problems plagued on the ps3. You have one great thing going for you. Say you get it tomorrow. You probably are not going to have many problems with your saw file as little as it will be. The good part for you is right when you start gettng to the point of needing a therapist there should be a patch that will fix the major issues.

Good luck. Your gonns love it. If you get a save file past 8 or 9 mb stop the game and go grab some really good headache medicine and drink a couple beers to take the pain away and you should be just fine.

I took an arrow to the knee and got right back up. You have to play the game with this state of mind.

So far the game's been working fine for me. I've had no problems other than a couple freezes that forced me to restart but that's normal for any game on PS3 in my experience. I won't be surprised to eventually run into some issues though if for no other reason than this is a Bethesda game and I've not played one yet that didn't have problems before they released the first big patch.

My PS3: 160GB slim (upgraded to 320GB), 1 year old with plenty of space on the HDD

One thing I will mention though is that I hardly ever have any of the problems with games that others claim to have. I've played many, many PS3 games where many of the people in the forums claim that it's broken and unplayable on their PS3 and I have none of the problems they do. Don't ask me why because I have no idea. All I know is that I never unplug my PS3 while it's running, I make certain I have plenty of HDD space before downloading any game, I regularly do a System File Restore, I keep my PS3 in the open with plenty of open space on all sides, I don't use a stand to stand mine upright...it lays flat, I never put any dirty disks into the PS3, I regularly clean dust from all vents. Maybe these things are the reason I don't have many of the problems others do and maybe I'm just really lucky...I don't know. But I do know that I'm having no problems with this game so far.

I also recommend as someone else did already, to make sure to keep plenty of saves for back up in case a file does go bad. I didn't do that on FO:NV and was sorry for it.

In a couple months I'm buying a new gaming PC and will never have to worry about playing epic games like this on PS3 again! I can't wait!! First thing I'm doing is buying SWTOR and then buying Skyrim for it!
