Has anyone seen this happen?

I've seen something equivalent but it was a hagraven for me.

A hagraven tried to fly then.

The Mammoth would have been very funny. Would have been funnier if it landed on something and killed that too.

Unfortunately I haven't seen this happen yet.

To Vaen

I just had to reply to your signature. My wife is a gamer like me, but only plays the Sims. You're absolutely correct - EA has to be the worst company in the world. She recently had several families (including their pets, children) disappear from her game (they go invisible and then disappear) - just gone. Thinking this was something new, she when to the EA forum and discovered this has been going on for two years. The only reply you ever get from EA when complaining about bugs is, "it's your computer," and "uninstall and reinstall the game."

Unbelievable.

Saw it in the E3 demo but never happened to me. A dragon could do that but can't beat a mammoth 1v1, or a giant. Amazes me.

Cheers
