Has Bethesda SW. learned from other big FPS's mistakes?

I presume you are a console gamer.

I play mostly on consoles, yes. While I appreciate it is more difficult to rent PC titles, it is still doable, and at the very least, waiting for reviews is an equally viable alternative.

But that is the case with MANY products across MANY markets. In fact, retailers aren't generally obliged to take goods back at all unless they're faulty (excluding distance selling regs). My point is, where is the personal responsibility? People blame the developers and complain like [censored], but at the end of the day, isn't it your own fault for being gullible enough to fall for ad campaigns? Is it not your fault that you pre-ordered for the sake of some ridiculous 'bonus' rather than renting before you purchase (allowing you to test the game BEFORE you commit your income)?

But that is why you have warranties and the ability to return the product before 30 days etc. without reason on these other products. No such thing with opened and installed games boss. If it doesn't work on your system, "oh well" is the response you'd get. While that is understood by the community... when you release a failure of a title like BlackOps which was completely unplayable (and still is) for the PC community, then we have issues and expect the Devs to address them and fix their product, not just abandon their customers. So how exactly is it "my fault" because the devs couldn't be bothered finishing their game? I'm not talking about not being happy with bonus items or a in-game perk, I'm talking about technical issues.

Also, there are situations like MW2 for example, where we are told specifically by the devs that "things haven't changed from COD4, it'll be just as good" then find out at launch that we've been told a huge crock and that they did a complete 180 on the community. Unless you were playing PC games during the late 90's and earily 2000s you prolly won't understand why PC gamers have such expectations. It's about time devs got back to actually doing their jobs and release a finished and working product as they were doing "back in the day". And on a side note, you cannot base your purchase off of reviews. I've seen absolutely EPIC games get horrid scores because the reviewer didn't like it, just as I've played games that were scored rather high and found that the entire game left a lot to be wanted.

Finally, your logic isn't entirely sound as you cannot rent PC games and demos are very very very rare this day and age.

The entire system is supposed to be on good faith, I'm investing my money in a product that a company states is finished and working.
