Has Fallout got you to like some old music?

It has for me, I have taken a liking to the Ink Spots song from Fallout 3 and I like Blue Moon. If I hadn't of played Fallout, I don't think I would have ever liked this kind of music.

I love playing fallout with old fifties music but most likely would not listen to it out of the game. Does that count?

Yes, it totally has. I actually just got done listening to a bunch of Bob Crosby :tops: . Mad props to Fallout 3 for bringing such classy music to the radio stations. Didn't feel quite the same with New Vegas, but I'm not hugely into the country 'twang' and there didn't seem to be enough Sinatra/Martin.

Some of my other favourite artists that people should check out (many from the F3 soundtrack):

Louis Jordan
Ink Spots
Ella Fitzgerald
Louis Armstrong
Billie Holiday
Eileen Barton
Wayne Newton (some of his earlier 1960s stuff)

Would also recommend looking for the Mafia 2 soundtrack, it has a lot of Fallout 3 type music that might pique your interest in different bands.

Come on now, how could anyone not think songs like this are awesome?:

If that means you like the music then yes. In my case it has got me listening to it out of the game. The music creates a great atmosphere while playing, especially in New Vegas on the Strip. Blue Moon playing in the background just creates the perfect atmosphere.

Fallout definitely has contributed to my interest in music from the 20s-early 60s. The singers of that era had style and class that got replaced with needless six Appeal till we've got the Commercial [censored]s of modern music.

And it is amazing how much music got left out of the initial release of Fallout 3/Fallout: New Vegas that fit perfectly.

I love the music in the game as it really sets the atmosphere, but I don't listen to any of its type outside of the game. Maybe that's why I like playing Fallout so much. I totally feel like I'm immersed in an entirely different world.

I already really liked that kind of music, but the game kinda re-enforced it. It introduced me to some new people too like Kay Kyser. Now I really like a lot of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaPoFMPlSQM.
