Has the Combat Shotgun been confirmed to return?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:32 pm

My favorite weapon in Fallout 3 was the combat shotgun, it was really great, I hope that they don't get rid of it in New Vegas, if they do that would only be tolerable because there will be so many other new shotguns to play with.

The inventory image for the Combat Shotgun was used for the Multiplas Rifle in the inventory in one of the demos, so there's definitely a chance. On the other hand, that was probably just a placeholder image so we can't be sure.

I honestly wish the combat shotgun would lose the drum and go to a good old fashioned up-and-down clip. Or at least give me a four shot pump-action. I like the classics.

The only thing I hated about the Combat Shotgun is that they took a beautiful Russian Sub-Machine Gun (PPSh-41) and turned it into a frickin' shotgun, Its a damn shame in my opinion. :tops:

It looks like they wanted to make the PPSh-41 then suddenly decided they needed another Shotgun to have along with the Sawed-Off Shotty, If it had actually been a Sub-Machine Gun I would have actually used the thing and I'm sure it would have been one of my favorites. :tops:

Well they have the Riot Shotgun, which seems to be a pump-action tactical shotgun, that's what probably replaced the Combat Shotgun.

If we get another Semi-Automatic Shotgun I'd like to get the affectionately nick-named "Humpback" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browning_Auto-5 anything that John Browning set his hands upon is gold in my humble opinion. :tops:

This beauty was invented in 1898 and patented in 1900 it was in production up until 1998 that is 98 years of service! On top of that it can be chambered in 12, 16, and 20 Gauge.

We need less wood, more polymer! They may all have been termite ridden by the late 23rd century ^^

There is nothing wrong with polymer its durable, light weight, and in a lot cases very strong.

But in my humble opinion the guns made of wood have that rustic charm, along with a crafted look to them and are far more beautiful weapons to shoot and have as a means of protection in the Mojave Wasteland. :tops:

I really liked the Combat Shotgun. It was my best friend when fighting my way through Feral Ghoul infested Metro tunnels early in the game. That and the Hunting Rifle. I'm kind of excited about the enemies being way harder to kill this time around since that low level character terror when trying to take on several enemies at once with a hunting rifle low on ammo is just priceless. It's actually pretty fun in hindsight to stay on your toes.

Not mine after playing Call of Duty: World at War. It would've been the best COD game to date if the MP40 didn't exist. On Topic: Yes it would be great to have a CS but I am just fine without one. I think that there are 4 confirmed already.

i love the sawed off, in most games actually....its like a bigger pistol..and when i point it at people...they tend to, er, die. and going a slight bit off topic here, but does anyone have an idea/answer of how many shotguns are going to be in FONV? fallout 3 dissapoiningly only had two (as awesome as the two were)

a shotgun i would love to see in the game would be the Auto-assault12. its one of the best shotguns in the world. also the capabilty's it has to use different ammo types fits in perfectly with what they're trying to do in this new fallout.

The only combat shotgun that shall be in the game is the Winchester City-Killer from Fallout 1 & 2.

Deep inside me, I hope that the riot shotgun in new vegas is just a new name for it...

To be honest. I don't care what the others say, I'd REALLY like to see Fallout 3's shotgun return, I loved it's World War II era feel.
