Has there EVER been a game this good?

Please tell if you honestly think there is a game better than FO3 ..... and please note after my disappointment with FO:NV I surprised myself and cast ALL of my GotY votes for Reach ... I KNOW this is a minority opinion but I actually even like Reach better than ME2 which should have been a mortal-lock for EVERY GotY after the epic FAIL of FO:NV.

P.S. Any opinions on the upcoming Deusix????

For a proper convincingly SCARY post apocalyptica: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl and the mod S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Complete 2009
For quality CRPG: The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind
For deep conspiracies: Deus Ex
For parodying the 1950s and being fun: Destroy All Humans!

As for Deus Ex Human Revolution, I see it as being another attempt to popularize though lessening, a landmark classic game. I do not see it being well recieved by the fans of the original, irrespective of however many glowing 'reviews' are bought for it.

That spot is reserved for S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl

Well, I've played Fallout 1 for some four years, Fallout 2 and 3 for three years, and New Vegas for two MONTHS, and Fallout 1 and 3 are the only ones I still really want to play. Vegas became tiring and boring after the first playthrough, Fallout 2 had the best gameplay IMO but I never liked the setting (Fallout 1 that was as long as Fallout 2... Drool..)

Personally, I think Oblivion (my favorite game of all time) is a better game, but Fallout 3 is high up on my favorite games list.

Why does the the fo1 n fo2 fans go into a fo3 appreciateon thread to bum bash it . all im saying is that fo1 n fo2 didn't manage to keep the fallout franchise where as fo3 resurrected it this the proper second coming.

The reason why Fallout was thrown in a ditch was because of Interplay firing Black Isle staff and closing Van Buren.
Van Buren was the first real fallout game to take place in the 00's, it would have been the stepping stone for the franchise into the new millenia(?).
So if Interplay hadn't [censored] up then Fallout would probably be at Fallout 4 or Fallout 5 by now.
But it had nothing to do with FO1 or FO2, just bad management.

And by the way, I see FO3 fans coming over to the NV forum to trash on it as well.
So it's only fair for some trashing on FO3 to take place in this forum. ;)

Fallout would have been resurrected even if Bethesda didn't make FO3 though, several studios bid for it when Interplay wanted to sell it.

Bioware and Troika were also bidding for the franchise. Just sayin'

Different type of game in ways, but I would rank Bioshock (1) with it's ground breaking play as a MUST.

Try out Red dead redemption man.

Most hyped overrated piece of [censored] game I've ever played.
Story was cliché, tedious and copy pasta scooby doo moments all over the place.
The characters that were interesting had way too little screen time.
The world is just tedious and boring.
The mechanics were the awful GTA IV mechanics which handle as smooth as an 80's robot.
The actual missions come down to watching a horses ass and shooting some guys about 70 times.
The path system was horrible, I could place a point where I wanted to go and the guideline on the map tells me to go do an enormous U turn when I could just ride across the field, so it's misleading as hell.
It's buggy as hell with animation glitches and texture delays.
And the ending came as a ____slap and just left me with a bad test in my mouth.

The absolutely only thing that RDR did good was how the world looked IMO.

/opinion. ;)

Opinion my ass. How was that a opinion more like a Insult to the whole RDR community and answer this...why is there probably more people playing RDR than FNV. The gameplay in RDR was bar-none and it is ignorant to say otherwise. Theres glitches...just like in every normal game. And please you act like FNV doesnt have more <_< . The game runs pretty smooth and the only place i see the Glitches that are even bad is in Multi. Please go play the game again and come back to me. The ending was a Twist. Not always the good guy wins OK! The world is great and amusing, Certianly not tedious but i guess you just dont like open worlds what ever floats your boat. Its like saying F3 or FNV was tedious in its map. There was many characters that had screen time, that were interesting and important.

What are you talking about smooth? It once took 6 minutes for some textures to render in safe house

I ofen tend too look what achievements people have on psn people who i met in online games , lets say that 90% from the people who has played rdr that i vieuwed had 5 % or less achievement score that tells me they lose interest very quikly , so sales may be pretty high but that doesnt say anything about an awesome game.

I played it too i must say in the beginning of the game i was pretty impressed because i thought the story would evolve around the relationship with the woman on the farm but not very short after you where ditched in the world with no actually clue what too do exept try too shoot some animals and play some F$%n cardgame
yes here we go again gambling simple minded, so i lose interest pretty fast and ditched it at the gamestore.

Hey i didnt say i dont like rockstar i had an amazing fun time playing Bully that was a fun game IMO

And I felt more immersed in Fallout 2. The game continues to amaze me after 6 years of playing it. Each to his own

I agree, and those are just RPGs. I can name a ton of games out there that are better than Fallout 3. Battlefield 2, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (my favorite shooter to date), Super Metroid, Metroid Prime 1, 2, and 3, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, etc. Rewards are so trivial and pointless, and are nothing but ways to drivvle up hype for a game.

well you're prob not an open world/sandbox game player, those games you mentioned are totally different than FO3, battlefield2 wasn't all that great to me, maps were small, the missions all play out the same every time pretty much.

Yes for the most part it runs smooth. Plus you act like FNV is ANY better than it. Yes exactly thats why it(RDR) won several game of the Year editions of course what am i saying. Not to mention that it was given a 9.5. In rating. Not to mention it sold over 2 million units between the months may and June. But you know it svcks of course....

You seriously expect to receive a normal answer when you start every argument with childish crap like this? Get a grip buddy, he has an opinion. Deal with it.. I won't screech from the top of my lungs just because someone likes F3 over NV for example.

1. And answer this...why is there probably more people playing RDR than FNV.

2. And please you act like FNV doesnt have more <_< .

3. Please go play the game again and come back to me.

4. The ending was a Twist. Not always the good guy wins OK!

5. The world is great and amusing, Certianly not tedious but i guess you just dont like open worlds what ever floats your boat. Its like saying F3 or FNV was tedious in its map.

1. There are more people playing RDR than FNV? Statistics please.

2. Glitches? Nope, FNV has glitches, but I was saying that I think that RDR is hyped and overrated and that many people seem to be focusing on FNV's bugs rather than taking a look at the other games' bugs.

3. God no! I would never return to it. At least Undead Nightmare was fun, didn't consider RDR fun, more tedious like "I spent money on this I have to complete it, maybe it gets more fun later?".
Did it? For a couple of quests before the lame ending yes.

4. I don't care if he wins or not, but the fact that after I've taken out armies in Mexico I go back to herding cows feels extremely anticlimactic.
I don't consider RDR to have that great of a story to get away with it either. Hence why it left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

5. I don't see how sand, cacti and random wildlife every once in a while is a great world, it's beautiful, sure, but the actual interaction with it is minimal and pointless.
Would have been far better off with a node system like... Call Of Juarez has (It is that cowboy game right? Or was it some other cowboy game?)
At least FONV's gameworld (while static) and FO3's gameworld has crap to do in it, from scavenging to hunting to quest solving to gambling to dikeing around.
RDR has horseriding and picking flowers.

I know that games like Fallout 3 were the kind that I used to fantasize about as a little kid back when they didn't have the technology to make games like this. I always wanted a game that let you do pretty much whatever you wanted with very few limitations, and had a huge world to explore and you could create any kind of character you want. Fallout 3 does all these things which is why it's my favorite game of all. I think other games should take a lesson from Bethesda that it's not all about graphics and storytelling, but about having the freedom to do whatever you want in a game and having a huge world to explore with lots of lore and characters. Games are more enjoyable when they're treated as an escape from reality than they are treated like a movie or competative contest. :)
