I hate them too, but as long as they keep at a distance my silenced sniper rifle will hti them.. 33% accuracy without VATS (avarage) and impossible to engage VATS due to range. If they get a few feet closer, I'm able to go into VATS, trying to hit the antenna, which usually fails. Time to travel light and the the **** out of there asap and afap (as fast as possible), dropping mines along the way. And then I die and reload a save...

Do NOT snipe them. That's suicide.

Use a fast-firing pistol, or SMG. Something you can fire quickly with and reload quickly. Aim for the wings. Once one goes down, aim at another's wings. Use hollow point if you like.

Cazadors were a nightmare for my sniper character, far easier for another character where I often used the 10mm SMG.

I was more going with the try to look through a scope at something moving a million miles an hour and not throw up.

Easy with carbine & scope from a distance on hard level anyway... but early in the game they freaked me out how quick they move & with the piss weak weapons then, they are a joke and to be avoided till graduating up.

I have a question : Does the Hunter Perk affects Cazadores ?

In the description , it says it adds 75% (!) critical damage against mutated animals and animals .

Assuming a Cazadore is a mutated animal , this perk should be a must have for people having troubles against them , hence my question , thx for answer

Still have to try pyromaniac this game, FO3 it was a favourite on a big gun build, emnotologist is a killer I've found, also another favourite from FO3.

Pyro is not that strong here in FNV. Mainly due to DT and the lack of any unique Flame Weapons. That and the lack of any good crafted ammo for them. Espeically when compared to Hollow Point Rounds.

Endomologist is very strong. Early game giant radscorps are the most dangerous thing you will encounter. Late game it makes killing Cazadors a piece of cake.

They are Giant Bugs, not animals. So you want Endomologist. Adds 50% dmg. Go use a 10MM SMG or a 12.7SMG with hollow points and that perk! Bye bye bugs.

To fight cazadores you need no companions cus cazadore venom apparently for me makes stim packs sometimes work in reverse and kill my companions. :( Then you need a good gun that has decent damage and at least 10 bullets :) with a lot of extra ammo some places have lots cazadores. Then you need stim packs and antivenome. Then get to killing :)

Thanks for the pyro info, I'm modding certain flame weapons into my game atm..
Low initial damage but long flame effect and high burst radius.

I've never found giant rads or even the two queens difficult in NV tbh, even without the perk.
I've tagged the perk more for cazadore's later on in the game, but that was on a non automatic build or melee one.
Then anything that adds that ammount of damage is always worth taking.

has anyone had the glitch trying to kill these things?
using VATS, and the incinerator they die quite easily, but use the incenerator on its own and you can knock its life right down to the red bar with no blips and the thing still comes running at you until you use vats and kill the thing.........annoying

They are easy. Take out hte wing, and theyre stuck on the ground for a moment. They wont move, just sit there.

I love Cazadores. ~*

I remember when we first showed the concept art and a description for Cazadores and people were pretty dismissive of them.

That's when I knew some magic was about to happen.

If we are lucky enough to have your guys (Obsidian) hands in on the next Fallout, I think a mutated wolverine has potential, given it takes place in the proper location......btw congrats :celebration: on RPG of the year, you all deserve it.

they usually spawn on flocks, so a good grenade welcome is a nice surprise (or in the other hand you just want to avoid the encounter) the only pain in the nose of these cazadores are they attack in numbers, they move fast, and they have a poison sting.

I remember the first time I encountered them, I was murdered before the venom could even take effect. i thought to myself about the idea of giant wasps and its one the most horrible things i could imagine encountering, which was odd to me because because giant insects dont bother me, but these things have wings. As far as dealing with them taking the wings out first seems to work best for me, with any gun really, but a laser rifle seems to do especially nice. I always keep lots of antivenom ,which if you dont mind caesar's wrath is carried by almost all of the legion, so i just kill them and stockpile it. However the best tip for combat with them (with any enemies really) is to not get swarmed. They only appear in certain spots so once you know where they are you engage them first from a distance and thin them out, once you hit the first one they all fly straight to you making them pretty easy to aim at (thank god they dont serpentine) then when there close enough cripple the wings. It also dosent hurt to have companions on non hard core mode they may go down but not before they help out, and when youre done they just pop back up.

When I met my first Cazadore, I assumed it was some sort of "alpha bloatfly" and that a few bullets would take care of it. Barely escaped with my life. :sadvaultboy:

I hate them because of the extremely loud and annoying " *pop* aahhhhh" sound that plays when they sting something.
