I hate enemies who use ice spike

As an Archer i use a bow with a chance of paralyzing. Is there any chance to learn that ice spike spell? never found a tome at lvl 41

Generally I try to stealth kill them. And if that fails, I want to at least be close enough by the time they realize I'm there, to melee them down.

I normally used the slow time shout and pretend they are [censored]ting themselves seeing me rush into them dodging their spells without effort before decapitating them with my battleaxe.

If you kinda zig zag toward them sometimes they'll shoot their spells really far to the side as they try to lead your movements.

I'm a mage and the only real threatening thing to me are archers.

See how they implemented a combat triangle there?

Yup rock paper scissors. I'm fine with this concept, but no spell or skill or weapon should render one class as a free kill to another. A way out of being kited is all I'm asking. I know there are a myriad of preventative measures, but my problem is that after being hit with one ice spike I am screwed, so I would prefer a cure to being kited rather than a bunch of preventions which fall outside of my class rules anyway (scrolls, magic, sneaking etc)

Oh and archery, I do use archery but not often, mostly for dragons so my skill is pretty weak.

What bothers me is that they can machine-gun you with the spikes(and fireballs, and any magic ranged attack), however, if you're playing a mage you can't machine-gun the enemies back, you have to hold the button to charge the spell.

Yeah this too, and they don't need to aim either, they have alarming accuracy and can spam those things like crazy, especially with dual casting.

Yes, I think Bethesda went a bot overboard on the slowing down aspect of it.

Without any frost resistances, you're dead.

I never noticed it with my nord warrior his 50% frost resistance must be enough to not get slowed down like that, but my new wood elf had a hell of a fight last night against some of those ice spike wielding bastards. I had to hide behind pillars and strafe out with a quick arrow and then take cover again to take them out. Some good ideas though with the frost atronoch and whirlwind to get close to them. But they were spread out so even when I got to one, I would get ice spiked in the back at a distance from the other one... it was brutal. I died a couple times and kept reloading until I found a strategy that worked which was hide and shoot stealth arrows.

Yeah being a Nord it is rather silly when enemies use ice magic, and given that this is Skyrim...I always chuckle at the absurd amount of ice mages. Not that I mind that much...things get painful fast when they break out the lighting magic.

I play a mage and got the ice spike spell early on. Once you reach certain levels of destruction, new tomes become available to buy.
