I hate to say it but this game is very lacking!

Post » Sat Jan 02, 2010 9:47 am

First off let me start out by saying I put over 600+ hrs into FO3 I pretty much memorized the game. But Fallout New Vegas is so bad that I am just going through the motions just to beat the game. Mobs are far and few in between so there is no real danger roaming the wastes! Almost every building I explored so far is full of junk! Unlike FO3 where I would find many item of value. FNV just makes me think exploring buildings is a waste of time. The voice talent in this game is very lack luster it seems like the hired anyone off the street. WAY TOO MANY THINGS RECYCLED FROM FO3! From the models to the music. In my opinion Bethesda hired Obsidian to rush this recycled game to market just to make a quick buck off the Fallout name.

P.S. This game has way too many glitches I could write a 5 page report on all the glitches in this game!

Are you sure we're playing the same game? I've been gang banged by swarms of mutant butterflies in the wastes more times than I can remember.

So basically, you loved Fallout 3. You hate NV because it uses resources from Fallout 3.

The bugs are not global, it is entirely on your end. I have no bugs, and am thoroughly enjoying the game. To each his own.

The voice acting and writing is a lot better IMO and it sounds like there is more than six voice actors this time around

I wish in my game I can roam a long time until I run into anything and when I do I can kill it with ease. I am only level 9 though, I really wish I fared for my life maybe I should start over amd use hardcoe mode!

That'll change.Wait till you hit the swarms of Mutated Mosquito Like creatures, Nightstalkers, and Assassin Hit Squads.

Almost every building I explored so far is full of junk! Unlike FO3 where I would find many item of value. FNV just makes me think exploring buildings is a waste of time.

Yeah, it's almost like it's been 200 years since the bombs fell, in a lightly hit area, that's been picked clean by scavengers/survivors. At the same time, that's not to say it's a waste of time to poke around these buildings. You'll still find plenty of choice loot, if you're willing to look for it.

If anything, the Voice Talent in New Vegas is more varied then that of Fallout 3.

And also, what were people honestly expecting from a game with a subtitle but no number? In gaming, that generally means "Independent Adventure utilizing pre-existing resources". It's like Vice City or San Andreas.

Trust me, you won't need a mob of Deathclaws! Just head east and north of Goodsprings and look for the warning signs.

Why do people wear rose-tinted glasses when praising FO3 and bashing FO:NV? This phenomenon occurs with every single new high-profile game release.
Theres even less mobs roaming the wastes in FO3, theres waaaaaaaay more worthless junk in random buildings in FO3, and of course things were recycled from FO3... its the same game engine and setting. And I have no idea where you get the idea the music is recycled... unless you think all music from the American 1950s is the same?

One of the things I disliked about F3 was how much loot, ammo and health supplies I found everywhere. It was ridiculous. Its more realistic if you have to scavenge that much harder to find anything good, plus it's more enjoyable when you do.

You knew it was going to have the same look and feel as F3... the same engine and graphics and everything, right? But you bought it anyway. Why complain about it now?

They recycled the same FO3 theme music and I hate to tell you but mob encounters were way more often in FO3.

Honestly you make it sound as though they fixed almost everything I found wrong about FO3 (but I know they didn't ).

I hate the way it is now "oh boy I got a whole 5 shot gun shells from that building", why even bother? If im going to take the time to explore make it worth my while!
Seriously it was ridiculous to find that much loot in so small an area that had been picked over for 200 years.
In Fallout 1 almost every dresser and crate was empty unless it was isolated or in someone's house. A trunk in an old shack is not there to give goodies, its there because its an old trunk in a shack, and what you'd expect to find ~an EMPTY trunk in an old shack

(Finding something cool or useful that was not taken decades before you got there should be an event :celebration: ...
not "where's my present!" and "is that it?" :flame: ).

The voice work that I've heard is fantastic and quite an improvement IMO.

Sounds like you expected some more Hack'n'Slash Run'n'Gun, loot-grinding dungeon crawl. Diablo 2 is that way.

Really I laughed when I read that, Fallout 3's voice talent was just so terrible and uninteresting, even Liam Neeson sounded bored.

sorry to but say fallout NV is nothing but a giant DLC of fallout 3 with the gary rock paint yellow and one or two extras
but then again i did not think it was going to be anything more than that

i think its nice game but it could have been a lot better
not GOTY stuff im hoping fable 3 gets that

Why can't a game with at least 100 hours of new content reuse a game engine without being called "DLC"?

Alright the last point is true to an extent... however, one of the bugged platforms is an entire console, which speaks to a certain level of ineptitude on Ob's part.
