Cripes this new 3rd person only with horses makes it just about impossible to control them (PC version)... please tell me someone is either modding a first person view like Oblivion.

I play the entire game in 3rd person so it does not bother me, plus I just use the mouse to steer rather than wasd. Someone will definitely come along and make a mod for it when the creation kit is launched.

I play it also at 3rd person view, but what I hate is that I can't walk backwards while on horse "sometimes when I end up at high cliffs I can't walk backwards and I fell of quite few times already because I forget that I can't backpedal on horse".......................

Disapppointed with horses and companions. They both need to be tweaked in the AI department

Fell off the bridge at winterhold with my horse. All because it's like an all terrain vehicle and mounts any low wall...

Needless to say I loaded my save again. I'm all for accepting what happens to either companion or horse, but that straight annoyed me!

I remember Tod Howard saying in an interview that mountable horses wouldn't be included if they couldn't make them better than Oblivion (http://www.gameinformer.com/b/podcasts/archive/2011/02/03/toddhowardse.aspx). I get the idea that someone higher than him forced the inclusion based on focus group answers, because this implementation definitely isn't what he was talking about. I just walk everywhere.

I don't mind third-person as I mostly play like that, but riding the horse is so frustrating I gave up on it completely. Now I run on foot and it's more enjoyable. I had extremely positive experience in Mount&Blade - great and intuitive riding system. In Skyrim, I can't ride forward and look at left/right. My horse doesn't go forward when I press W, it goes wherever mouse is pointed.

I suppose lizards and horses don't mix.

Hold down "walk" button to make sharp turns with your horse.
