Hats vs Hoods

A real mage would wear http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lPlOhaAM7jA/TDe5jM5QlmI/AAAAAAAAAQ0/LgfYqWknYjc/s1600/CivV_Montezuma_Rough_04+.jpg.

I preferred Justinian's jewel-encrusted dog bowl crown thing from Civilization IV. :P

I agree with this, I wouldn't use it but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be in. I also definitely agree that we need some good assassin style clothing/armor.

Did you like the assassins clothes in the trailer when hes killing from the shadows?

Maybe more variety in hats, other than hoods. I don't know about a stereotypical wizard's spire hat being a regular thing, but it would be fun to see at least one silly hat the game.

Id like to be able to wear a cape over my light armor, or a hooded cape over my armor and helmet. Someone made a hooded cape mod that was head gear(with the cape attached) but the cap was rigid and it looked stupid, and you couldn't wear a helmet under it.

I want a lot more variety, like morrowind had. Just the ability to wear clothes ontop of armor was cool, I am not doing it, but the choice is there. I hope there is more slots for armor/clothing, with more clothing and hats and bracelets and rings and necklaces etc.

So the moral of the story is more choices please!

Well there is certainly must be more options for headgear from clothing category as well the same must be done for gloves and shoes as well need return of enchant limit so there is no need anymore to imagine thats Arch-Mage robe is better then our starting prison rags for enchanting while actually they was fully equal, even more our wrist irons is solely one hand clothing in game and there ins no more wristbands or cloth gloves, so there is no more need to install mods thats fix absurdly lack of clothing in game.

I'd say they showed some initiative as to delve into the use of crowns and such. Look at shivering isles - The Duke of Mania had a crown :celebration: I would expect them to continue on with that, it was really well done in my opinion. :tes:

Yes indeed, non armour boots and gloves please. Don't fancy trudging through that snow and ice in green velvet shoes.

Bit sad this, but being an xbox player, I never gave a damn about mods, except I really missed some kind of circlet or tiara for my Altmer sorceress, hoods are ok, not perfect, and obviously helmets are no good. Ah well.

I think tiara kind of things are in Skyrim. If you look at the Khajiit pic, you can see he is wearing something on his head that looks like a tiara.

I just want some veriety of hats that might been seen in everyday life in midieval times, regardless of if they look 'wizardy'.

Possible examples:http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.carpatina.com/Medieval_Hat.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.carpatina.com/renaissancehats.html&usg=__uHH3K6MUwV-mGpWQUGCNnL8zbXM=&h=205&w=182&sz=28&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=haudGCD1U19qGM:&tbnh=141&tbnw=141&ei=NqXVTZHTO4KatweT1K29Bw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dmedieval%2Bhats%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1R2ADFA_enUS349%26biw%3D1577%26bih%3D973%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=1202&sqi=2&page=1&ndsp=46&ved=1t:429,r:11,s:0&tx=62&ty=106 http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.911buycostume.com/Pages/headgear/A3404_200.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.911buycostume.com/Pages/medieval/medieval.htm&usg=__kr79C5wTosLUcMKn6bz6kQwG2WY=&h=285&w=200&sz=17&hl=en&start=46&zoom=1&tbnid=KPAAmvlCG13LdM:&tbnh=197&tbnw=141&ei=NqXVTZHTO4KatweT1K29Bw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dmedieval%2Bhats%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1R2ADFA_enUS349%26biw%3D1577%26bih%3D973%26tbm%3Disch0%2C292&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=310&vpy=634&dur=4992&hovh=228&hovw=160&tx=65&ty=152&sqi=2&page=2&ndsp=35&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:46&biw=1577&bih=973 http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.yourfantasycostume.com/sites/yourfantasycostume.com/files/imagecache/width-200/images/cale_medieval_lnc_cp_10_a_g.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.yourfantasycostume.com/costumes/echoppemedievale-specialists-historical-garments-based-france&usg=__WA7dkSkzaHWSyIqYRfIF5Qps0pg=&h=310&w=200&sz=11&hl=en&start=46&zoom=1&tbnid=th4IOVcNewWTLM:&tbnh=197&tbnw=141&ei=NqXVTZHTO4KatweT1K29Bw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dmedieval%2Bhats%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1R2ADFA_enUS349%26biw%3D1577%26bih%3D973%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=202&sqi=2&page=2&ndsp=35&ved=1t:429,r:4,s:46&tx=75&ty=104

I'm kind of hoping for some head adornments like http://www.etsy.com/listing/41481326/elven-crownlet and http://www.etsy.com/listing/45670140/mage-headband. Phrygian caps, Conan-style headbands, pretty bonnets, and other fantasy-medieval-esque coverings would be great as well. Not all of us or our characters want to wear helmets.

A pointy wizard hat is a thing I could surely use for my roleplaying as Abbath. Another great idea. xD

If they have a decent hat variety it would be cool to have them in the game.

Cheesy wizard hats, hoods, fancy hats, fancy wizard hats, crowns, tiaras, more fancy wizard hats.
We need everything!

You may be being sarcastic here, but I don't see why we don't in fact have many options. I loved the various different armours/clothing in Morrowind, and I was sad that it wasn't expanded on in Oblivion. I'd love to have more head clothing, instead of just hoods and armour. I think there's a tad too much of the avoiding cliché's going on. Sure, it's nice that our Dwarves are in fact Elves and what-not, but sometimes cliché's can go well. Personally, I think the "cheesy wizard hats" help portray the wizened mage image well.

It's not like everyone would need one.

Why did hoods make you feel evil?

Also, aren't wizards with big pointy hats just a little too silly at this point? They were fine with Daggerfall, but I like to think the series has gotten a bit too serious for that type of hat.

Gandalf isn't serious enough for you? (Just saying, lol). I think the option should be avaliable to the people that want it. If you want to wander Skyrim with a broad-brimmed, pointy hat looking like the classic wizardic model, then cool. Go for it. If you don't, don't buy the hat. Simple, really.

They should have hats, not just hoods.

Whether or not they have pointy Gandalf or Merlin hat is another issue. Might be nice a one of many options.

But I want hats!! Please.

Oh.... and gloves too please.

crowns, tiaras,

Crowns, tiaras, and circlets are the best - something to wear on your head (and put enchantments on, etc) that doesn't cover your hair & face. Kafei's Circlet mod was one of my favorites in Oblivion - it added circlets with stats matching every regular helm in the game. :D

both. having hats this time will get old just like hoods did, have both so that when bored of one you switch to the other.

The pointy hat is fine, some people fine them goofy but you can put off.

Besides hoods are for the thieves and rangers.

I want both.
