Have any of you kept the Jagged Crown?

Post » Tue Oct 30, 2012 5:12 pm

I'm thinking of keeping the Jagged Crown for awhile just for its cosmetic value as it goes really well with my dragon bone outfit. I take a some hits in defense and lose two enchantments but its ok since i'm already OP. Anyone else keep the Jagged Crown for these reasons?

If you want to keep it permanently (this can be used with some other quest items) put it on a manikin and complete the quest. When you come back, it'll still be there.

It's too bad they didn't make it available normally. It's a really cool headpiece.

You can also just put it in Ralof's inventory, then complete the mission as if you actually had it. After that, just pickpocket it from Ralof in the tavern at riverwood. Thats how I did it.

I have an Argonian marauder that looks good with the crown on, but I dislike the crown look for most of my characters so don't keep it.

Does the same work with Hadvar?

Not a clue, as the last time I did the Legion side was 11/12/11.

  • Sometimes the Jagged Crown is not marked as a quest item, allowing it to be used for the mannequin reproduction bug to accrue a second Jagged Crown. If the crowns are in the inventory at the end of the quest, all of them are removed.
  • The Jagged Crown can be kept by reverse pickpocketing either Hadvar or Ralof. The faction sided with at Helgen must be joined for the exploit to function properly. It must be done after the crown is collected but before the quest is completed. Once the quest is complete, the crown can be pickpocketed back from Hadvar or Ralof in Riverwood. Using the Serpent Stone or other means of paralysis improves the chances of recovering it successfully.
It's a little sketchy... the mannequin trick only works occasionally.

Would've kept it if there was a way to make it a non quest item.
