Have Bethesda implemented headbob in the Skyrim Remaster?

Post » Wed Sep 14, 2016 5:54 pm

Like many others I'm sensitive to headbob in games, and developers often allow for users to turn the feature off (unlike Bethesda with Fallout 4).

I was looking again today at the remaster trailer and I couldn't help noticing a difference in camera movement between the old and new versions. Old versions = smooth camera. New versions = camera moving slightly up and down. It looks to me like they might have implemented the new camera system from Fallout 4 into the Skyrim Remaster. I seriously hope I'm wrong and they haven't done so.

Have a look at the video and pay attention to the before and after camera movement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GM17Snby-14

(PS: please don't come in just to say that headbob doesn't affect you. That's great but it does affect lots of others)

All I saw was a bump in the road at the point where the image switched to the new. That wasn't head-bob, just the usual terrain-following that bounces the camera on stairs already.

There was headbob in the original release but it was less noticeable than the camera bounce from uneven terrain. If the terrain has more detail (bumps) in the remaster then there will be more bounce as well.

I really hope not. I get sick playing Fallout 4 so haven't played it much. I really would hate for this to happen again in Skyrim remastered.

I know the bump in the road you mean. But watch the Xbox One footage, that's where it was most noticeable for me.

this one has noticed the head bobbing in FO4 .............

not only that but has noticed a very different mechanics to camera movement, compared to Skyrim its quite sluggish and not as smooth, I don't know if this is done to support a shooter type of game play or if its a NEW thing all together

I just hope that its not included into Skyrim ...............they will wreck the game big time ...........

YES this one is on PC and has mods to do head boobing, but its fully custamizable, as are all the mods installed that affect any type of player & camera movement,

I don't think the Bethesda programmers will go as far as to introduce any options that will affect the DEFAULT game ............unless they have that much time & they have nothing better to do than polish up the game and fix every single glitch.

dear unknown gamer ............DON'T FEAR

what ever fear you have about the Remastered version they are unjust ..................... there will always be a big part of the Skyrim community that will come to the rescue

The modding community will FIX & give you mods with all the options you can ever dream off, if you can think of it they can make it, especially now that they can have mods on PS4 and Xbox One & PC of-course............

"so relax ...........your in safe hands ...............Skyrim is in safe hands"

I've seen complaints about this but I've never noticed it myself. Except in the STALKER games. Found it pretty annoying there and haven't played the one I did buy on the cheap much, partially because of that. I can't think of any other game it's noticeable in, though I do recall it being present in Fallout 4...but only when sprinting. I think it is the same in Skyrim, isn't it?

Perhaps I only notice it while I sprint. I just don't notice it while walking. Though I tend to flip to third person while walking between locations. Only use first person in combat or indoors.
