Have Bethesda learned the lesson of Oblivion?

And was written in the 2nd Era...

And was still being published. If it were no longer valid, given that there wasn't very much information presented in it, there'd be no reason for the book to still be around all over the place; it'd be referenced in another, newer publication at most were this the case.

Morrowind Cons
...
Graphics - Graphically, it is worse.

Never bash a relatively older game based on graphics as compared to a newer game. For its time, Morrowind had very good graphics and a ridiculously high poly count.

Seriously guys. Aren't there enough Morrowind - Oblivion flame wars going on? Morrowind and Oblivion were both great games, no why can't we all shut up and get along?

If people were still seeing Ayleids do you not think that they might have written about it as well? The Wild Elves is the latest semi-reliable source on the Ayleids and it's a thousand years old. That would seem to suggest that modern knowledge on them is non-existent.

Actually, I re-read the book more closely and it only quotes a source from the second era, not that it itself is from the second era. It also sounds like the Ayleids as described in the book were originally supposed to be featured in TES2, but were dropped like countless other features in order to meet the publishing deadline.

Yes, Bethesda have learned their lession from Oblivion, and Fallout 3 is the proof.

Not very much about the topic to discuss.

So the most definitive source we have on the Ayleids can only reference the 2nd Era? My point still stands :P

Besides, never is it confirmed in Oblivion that the Ayleids are extinct. I'm sure given another year to work on the game BGS would have included a deeply reclusive settlement and questline that centres around them. As it is, you will have to be satisfied with "they're probably living deep in the forest but we can't pin the buggers down".

I disagree. In fact, the writing seems to be even worse; to quote again:
Three Dog: I use my voice to fight the Good Fight.
[Intelligence] So you use your voice to fight the Good Fight.
Three Dog: Wow, you really are smart!
And the story that was a mashup/rehash/remashhashup of FO1 and 2's plots.

This thread has taken a lot of babysitting and edits and now continues down the same path of tit for tat and poking one another's opinions until it is locked. Threads that need a babysitter don't fare well and thus...click.
