Do I have a bug?

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 2:30 am

So, I'm level 11 but all the Elven/Dwarven weapons have attack vals of 2.

I have installed the mods:

DarkPhinixUI
Better Birthsigns
Second to First Person
Let there be Darkness
Shivering Isles
Knights of the Nine

Could they be conflicting?? I was sure that Elven stuff had attack values of 5 -- arrows are about 2 as well.

I have installed Deadly Reflex, but I couldn't get it to run....should I try removing that and see if its fixed?

I don't see anything in your load order that would cause that but I'm going to move this to the mods section for others to peek at.

I should also add that I don't use OMOD/OHGOD/OMFG/OMMM etc etc :)

I don't know what a Load Order is

A load order is just that: the order in which your game "loads" (or reads) the additional information that modifications add to your game. You have a very small load order, so I can see why you wouldn't feel the need for OBMM or Wrye Bash, however they do make troubleshooting a modded Oblivion somewhat easier. Take a look at the pinned FAQs in the Oblivion mods forum for more information.

None of those mods should cause this issue. If it is an issue - the damage value depends on the character's skill. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Blade:

Your blade skill controls how much damage you do with a weapon, according to the following formula:

Damage = BaseWeaponDamage * 0.5 * ( 0.75 + Strength * 0.005 ) * ( 0.2 + BladeSkill * 0.015 )

The modified Damage value is the amount of damage you will see listed for a given weapon in your inventory

Ohhhhh...........My strength is unchanged from the start of the game. about 50. Is that why weapons are so low? Like at the start of the game?

Would explain a lot! My blade is skill is about 5....

Thanks :)

I'll use the opportunity to talk about my http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1093893-relz-display-stats/ mod, which adds a lot of info to the window that pops up when you point your mouse at a weapon or armor in the inventory. One of the additional stats it displays is the base damage of weapons (and their reach and speed too). So instead of just seeing 2 attack damage for each weapon in the inventory, you'll get to see which of them that actually is best.
