I have a feeling of how the game is going to end...

Post » Wed Sep 15, 2010 7:56 pm

As has been confirmed, you learn new dragon shouts by offing dragons. We get 20 shouts according to info we have. After a bit of thought the idea for the game end is here (put your imagination goggles on kiddies).

You've won the final battle with the big bad (presumably mr. eattheworld dragon), and he lays before you, you begin to chant in the dragon language, using all the words you've learned, and maybe some you didn't know you knew. The power of the language causes the world to bend and waver around you, the very mountain you are one begins to crumble. With a final sentence you unleash a massive amount of power, causing the mountain top to completely crumble and wiping out mr. bigbad, who curses you in the dragon language as he dissipates from mortal existence.

Just my thoughts...

The first emperor conquered his impery. its not like "I am a dragonborn, give me rulership".

I hope some serious [censored] goes down if Alduin doesn't eat the world.

Alduin... grew furiously angry and boomed out, "You stupid little f*cker, do you even know what would HAPPEN if that happened, my dying and being unable to eat and the kalpa left to run forever?

Nah I think it will just end in an epic fight, you still have to learn the words, you cant just say words you dont know and all the dragon shouts have different contexts so not all of them can be used together, I mean one is used for sneaking, how ill that fit in?

Obviously, Alduin eats the world and poops out a new Nirn. Allowing BGS to reboot TES into a MMO with guns, lasers, and jets... Vroom vroom :deal:

I agree, if we can be any race or six, I don't want to become emperor at the end.

Sounds too Dragonball Z-like to me...

At the same time I don't believe we will become the Emperor, as that would lead to some interesting and possible game-breaking repercussions for future games.

The end could go a lot of ways. I'm just hoping it's a bit more interesting and interactive than Oblivion was. I still felt like I was watching Yu-Gi-Oh... Don't get me wrong the ending was cool, but it could have been better in my opinion.

I don't know what you mean by game break repercussions for future games, after all in Morrowind we ended up as the Nerevar,a top figure close to Vivec in importance for Morrowind culture/people,and since every game they make its always on a different setting/area and quite some years after the previous one, what are the repercussions for us to end as a emperor?
I suggested that not meaning i would like it btw, that could be annoying to continue playing after the main quest is done, just that it seems to me a possible route for them to go with,or who knows, different endings.

The first emperor was an empress...

Alessia came first. It was more like "I am Perrif and these are my good friends... a winged bull demigod, the dragon god of time, and Shezarr reborn with a death ray for a left hand and a thirst for Elven blood, so buzz off!"

I love Alessia and co. Those were the good old days when Ayleids were available for my daily supply of Elven genocide.

First of all, you are not Nerevar in Morrowind. You are the Nerevarine, which is a reincarnation of that historic figure, and even that's debatable if you are truly him. Without Nerevar, the Tribunal (doesn't anymore as they were fake gods) wouldn't even exist and Vvardenfell would have fallen into darkness.

As far as being the emperor is concerned, how could BGS fit that into TES lore? There is no way a nord/argonian/orc/redguard/etc could be the emperor of the entire empire. Everyone's story, character, and choices would be completely different. The only way I could have seen that potentially being pulled off is if BGS forced us to play a specific pre-determined character, which isn't what they do. Which leads me to believe that the Dovahkiin will either get a fancy title with armor and be done with it, go on a journey like the Nerevarine, or become a daedric prince like in Oblivion. Something crazy like that as to not have previous characters conflict with future lore and games.

I doubt the dovahkiin will die, because i thought we could continue playing after the main quest....thats right......right?

Good point. You do play after the main quest. So Dovahkiin won't die like the main character originally did in Fallout 3 lol. But the player definitely won't be emperor. We will probably just be crowned Champion of Skyrim or something to that effect.

I have to say throwing down a mountain(The Throat?) with your draconic speaking voice on a God-dragon would be a great way to end the main quest.

I'd say its a good guess.

Being the Emperor wouldn't be very satisfying I think.

"Congratulations hero, you're the Emperor. Your throne awaits you in the Imperial City. But you can't get there since it was in another game and Cyrodiil is inaccessible because reasons. Ocato can handle everything. When he's not just sitting in that council room staring out across the empty table. He seems kinda down. Maybe you could sign this card saying how much we appreciate his help in these times of crisis? Thanks, bye. If you're looking for something to do, I hear the Fighter's Guild is recruiting again."

I suspect the conspiracy theories Mankar Camoran championed will be answered, if only in part. Beyond that.. dunno. I certainly hope we're done with the Empire, at least for now. In fact, in future games I expect it'll remain a much reduced, human despotate, clinging to it's past glories. It's supernatural mandate seems done with, after all. There's no longer a divine need rebuild or maintain it.

No what will happen is as you get to the big baddy.. you fast forward to having defeated him... and from behind him comes a swarm of tiny pink dragons singing happy songs in dragon ,,, and as they do the entire world starts to turn pink and rainbows form everywhere.. The last seconds of your sanity show you screaming into the heavens as the very stars above turn pink one by one and space itself turns cotton candy pink...

And then you snap back to standing in front of whats hiz name.. and say.. Ok... forget that and walk away... The last seconds of the game show a laughing evil dragon god and then an even bigger dragon comes out and asks in dragon tonge.. did you find a baby sitter dear...
