So it seems MS is hellbent on forcing windows 8.1 down my throat, and like it or not it appears i have to install it. So i was wondering, do i have to have a MS account or can i just make a local only one?

What are you talking about? Are you on 8 and its trying to update to 8.1? Bc 8.1 is a crucial update to win 8 thats been out for a long time.

eh id rather not honestly, i like windows 8 and from what i hear the update is buggy as hell and id rather not screw up my pc

Thats definitely not true at all. There is absolutely no reason to not upgrade to 8.1. It fixes a lot of issues with 8 and all the bugs have been fixed that were associated with it.

Get 8.1 and then just wait for 10 which should come out next year's late summer/early fall.

Can i still use my current account though, or do i have to make a new one? anyone know a guide on how to do that?
