Honestly, I'd rather keep the mods I'm using than to update and buy some DLC that
doesn't sound all that interesting.

It's the mods that keep me playing

Well, as povuholo said, things _here_ are rather slow. If the activity of this forum would be a general representative of NV modding in general, then it would be pretty much dead :) But the main action takes place on Nexus these days. Some of the most popular mods there don't even have a release thread here.

And regarding NVSE, well I can't say that I'm not at least a little bit concerned (but mainly because there's a bug I'd really like fixed), but so was I when NV was released and FOSE development seemed pretty much dead at that time. Yet these guys delivered, and they even did it much faster than I expected. So hopefully Ian will pop in 5 minutes after the patch came out and top the speed record from the last time (which was what.. 30 minutes? :)).

I requested a fix for that same repair list bug in FOSE several months ago. The reply from IanPatt was that it is fixed. The update has not been posted yet.

I sent an email to IanPatt, he's been busy with work but says he'll work on getting NVSE updated as soon as possible once the patch comes

Okay... a little relief then. Nice to know he hasn't been maimed and we never knew it.

(I think that may have happened to Quarn, who did the Unofficial Patches for Oblivion and FO3...)

Well thanks for the info MadCat, I do hope your wrong though
As for some saying that NV just isn't good, well that is just not true, opinion to but I think the bugs and performance issues have been the true culprits as for the loss of interest and not to mention the GECK problems that really should be fixed.

@ Occam's Razor
Us modders will fill out the map, we just need time, it was way longer than 8 months for lots of good mods for FO3 to be made, tbh I think FO3 has finally hit the point of having a great amount of good mods for it and that's been out for 2 plus years now.

And it's just your opinion that the best NV mods are ports of FO3 mods.....the bobbleheads, really, you must be kidding

I'm a modder too, so no need to talk down to me.

Well, until "us modders" fill up the map, searching for Bobbleheads that get randomly placed with each
game gives me something to do.

Let's just chill. I don't think we need to make this worse with infighting. This is a community of very capable and intelligent people. We are all capable of being very civil. I have faith in this community to put these smaller issues behind them and focus on the big issue that's this thread's topic.

Yeah, let's keep atleast keep this board clear of the F3 vs NV threads, please? :)

Good to hear NVSE will propable be updated, i simply couldn't go back to mods that don't use it or *shudder* vanilla. And yes, it seems Nexus is many times more active than this forum, but i often use the wip and release threads here to learn about mods rather than their Nexus page  And then there's mod outside of Nexus, the scene is much more active than this page leads you to beleive.

Speaking of which, has anyone seen or heard from Xodarap77? (spelled it wrong, but you get the drift)

The rest of my post is slightly off-topic in two different areas, read it anyway

EDIT: Does anybody else have a problem with jslide on the nexus?
whenever I click on a screenshot for a mod, it enlarges so I can see it, but I can only do it once,
when the picture goes back to normal size, and I click on it to enlarge it again, instead it shrinks
down to a tiny icon and says "Powered by Jslide"

Another bit that's off topic, but speaking of Morrowind, I wish they'd get a group of volunteers or whatever
to separate the Morrowind Mods from the Oblivion Mods, and maybe even make a MorrowindNexus.

Unless they've already done it, I've been out of the loop for a couple of years

But we permanently lost a LOT of good mods to Morrowind when a site went down....

wait what site went down? and what was the major mods of the site?

There's Fliggerty's 'Morrowind Modding History' site which seeks to preserve those old mods that aren't hosted on PES or Nexus.

I don't think any Morrowind mods were lost from the change from TESSource to Nexus though. Which site did you mean went down?

Hmmm....I think it was way back in 2004? Or AM I thinking of TesSource?
It's been a long time, it's getting close to 10 years.....
It was definitely before Oblivion came out, I'm not sure when the Nexus started
but there was a prominent Morrowind Mod site around 2003 that hosted a ton of Morrowind
Mods, some modders put their mods on that site AND fileplanet, because at the time,
I think those were the only two options, (again, if Nexus started way back then, I didn't know about it)
but most modders were just sticking their mods on the one site, and not putting them on FIleplanet.
Am I thinking of TesSource? Now you guys have me confused......
It was the "Go To" place for Morrowind mods, and then one day it just disappeared.
IIRC there's a Morrowind history site out there that mentions the site by name..... :bonk:

When that site went down, a lot of Morrowind mods
were lost, because they were never uploaded to alternative sites like fileplanet.

Plus, people avoided fileplanet because, it's just a real PITA to download from there.

I'm aware of Fliggerty's, it's a great site, but not all mods got saved.
There was one particular house mod I really liked that I cannot find, even using the Morrowind Mod Detectives
and the Morrowind sites.

I wasn't trying to cause a panic, people, aren't reading my post correctly, I was just suggesting that
the Nexus make a MWNexus or Morrowind Nexus and move the Morrowind mods there,
as it's VERY difficult to search for Morrowind Mods at TESNexus, because Morrowind and Oblivion files are all mixed in together.

The closest you can get, is using the advanced search and typing in morrowind and hoping the mod has the word "Morrowind" in the title somewhere.

Man, can I get off-topic or what? :vaultboy:

Odd, I noticed no difficulty using the 'search all oblivion files' or 'search all morrowind files'.

I'd be very surprised if the NVSE guys stopped updating it, at least without getting someone else to cover it for them; FOSE/NVSE are so critical to the modding community that I have a hard time believing they'd simply up and walk away from it.

I don't think we really have anything to worry about, as evidenced by that email. They'll get it done as soon as they can according to their schedules, and that's the most we can ask of them.

Plus....they have to wait for the actual update to come out before they can make NVSE compatible with the new version...

The Morrowind site that everyone is talking about was called Euro-Morrowind. Then it changed to Euro-RPG before it went kaput in 2004. It was the Nexus of its era. :obliviongate:

I spoke with scruggsywuggsy in the OBSE forums. He said that, although he isn't directly involved in NVSE, that once the new patch is released, NVSE will be updated.

Good to read this. Hopefully the next patch and version of NVSE will be a bit more stable when running. The instability is not caused by NVSE, but FOMM without NVSE skips the Beth launcher and everything is good, NVSE goes into the Beth launcher and ugh is that thing borked.

I am very close to binning NVSE simply because it means I have to use Beths launcher and that means trying to open the game around 40 times before it gives up and launches. And I know it isn't NVSE's fault, same problem without FOMM and NVSE, but just using FOMM gives me a reliable work around.

There are some mods that do seem to be abandoned by some authors, mainly because the author hasn't been on in ages. DarNUI is an example. DarN was last on his forum on the 30th of December, and the mod seems to have been abandoned. Someone should pick it up and continue.
