I've seen some Mirelurk kings at Boulder Beach Campground (though they might look and/or have a different name in FNV).
Edit: At least I think so, not 100% sure as I kept my distance.

I dont recall seeing a mirelurk yet and ive been all around NV but thats not saying there isnt any, lol. I have hit reavers though, got very scared, then 1 shot killed him/her. I was very surprised but happy to see they were not nearly as tough as before, i hated them in FO3, even with a lvl 30 and the best weapons they were a couple minute battle usually

I'm quite sure there are no Mirelurks in New Vegas.

Just had a thought too but it may b wrong but DC is right next to the ocean where crabs live however vegas isnt as close. Mirelurks looked like mutated crabs (duh) but the mirelurk kings and lake lurks (as they suggest) dont come from the ocean where crabs are . They look more like a mutated fish and human together or a human with fish genes, either way its not near the ocean so i would see that as a reason there r no mirelurks

I saw a few... through a scope from very far away. Hate those bastards. But there is at least one quest I know of that sends you directly to them.

Head over to Boulder Beach and walk around the lake, you should see a few. I found some on the south/southwest side.

Numerous hours into the game, and I've yet to encounter an 'lurks or deathclaws. I guess I'm just lucky.

Haven't seen an live mutants yet either, of any variety except the domesticated ones who aren't aggresive (Jacobstown). But I have seen a few of the stealth mutants, although all dead.

Why would there be mutated crabs in Nevada Desert?
Turtles exist there IRL IIRC but I don't think crabs do.

When you go to raise that thing from that place for the boomers, stand on the launch ramp, by the harpoon and look hard left. There are 2 there you can snipe.

Am I the only one that thinks the Lakelurks look like they have a dong for a head?

There are no mirelurks, nor should there be. I don't even like that there are lakelurks.

What we need is Wanamingos.

Exactly the same for me. I've even visited Lake Mead, which I think is where they live, and saw none.
