I have to say that TES V: SSE free version ending today svck

Post » Sat Oct 29, 2016 6:30 pm

I have to say that today being the last day to get The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition for free svcks.

It should be free forever for PC gamers who purchase The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the DLC, and the two expansion packs (Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn).

I don't understand why ZeniMax Media Inc., Bethesda Softworks, and Bethesda Game Studios aren't leaving it free forever for PC gamers.

It doesn't matter to me since I got the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition for free, but for all new The Elder Scrolls video games PC gamers or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim PC gamers after today it will svck.

If this was CD Projekt RED with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PC, PlayStation 5 (PS5), and Xbox Two? It would of been free for PC gamers forever.

It's just that I think this svcks.

Mmmm, sorry this bothers you Ballowers. Good deals are seldom permanent however. BGS may well believe that the PC master-race Skyrim faithful will have already utilized their leverage prior to release. Afterwards it would just be PC players doing an end run by piecing it all together for 15-25$ (maybe even less) so they could get the upgraded game and DLC for free.

Also (small speculative point) If BGS is currently working on two new games simultaneously, then a little extra cash flow might be helpful towards attaining their completion.

At least PC gamers have had plenty of time to get the SSE free. No such deal for anyone who bought the whole package on Xbox 360 or PS3. I think just the fact that anyone who bought it all on PC has had a chance to get the SSE free is a good thing for the PC crowd by itself.

I guess if the PC gamers who never purchased The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim purchases it and it's DLC and two expansion packs for $15 dollars (USD) and then The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition when it's on sale for like $20 dollars (USD? It can be considered free I guess? And that Bethesda Softworks and Bethesda Game Studios will still earn money.

It would of been very nice though if somehow the people who purchased it on the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and the Xbox 360 also got it for free on the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and the Xbox One.

Is there an official confirmation of this somewhere? I just searched the web and could find nothing in this issue.

And what do you mean by the free version ends today? If you already own the legendary edition, do you have to download SSE today or else pay for it later, or are you just referring to the fact that after today you can't buy the old game and then get the new one for free?

If you go on Steam's store page and search The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim just click on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and then scroll down to Recent updates and click on the October 27th one saying this.

Skyrim Special Edition is Now Available on Steam.

Unless I'm reading it wrong every PC gamer who purchased The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and it's DLC and two expansion packs after today or after 36 more hours will not be able to get The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition for free at all.

Was I reading it wrong?

Here's a more detailed description of their information about it.

The Elder Scrolls told of their return!

Winner of more than 200 Game of the Year Awards, Skyrim Special Edition brings the epic fantasy to life in stunning detail. The Special Edition includes the critically acclaimed game and add-ons with all-new features like remastered art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, and more. Skyrim Special Edition also brings the power of mods to the PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Skyrim Special Edition is now available on Steam for purchase. As a reminder if you own Skyrim + All DLC on Steam by the end of October 28th, you will be entitled to a free upgrade to Skyrim Special Edition. For more details, head to the following link:

By the end of October 28th is what sticks out to me.

Thanks. So you just have to earn eligibility by today. That makes sense actually. Otherwise ther would have to charge the same price for both versions. By imposing an eligibility cutoff, they can deeply discount the original version in the future without jeopardizing SSE sales.

I'll admit that it seems unfair that we console faithful had to re-purchase the game at full price. It seems not so bad now that the PC folk do have an end date to their super deal. As BGS stated, they did this to acknowledge that many PC people were mod creators and of course most already had the benefit of a superior graphics enhancement package. I'm good with it...

I think your title is very misleading, Ballowers. You make it sound like today is the last day PC users can download the remaster for free. That is not the case at all.

Wait...they are offering it free for just 1 day lol?

What was wrong with doing it at least for launch weekend?

Is there any particular reason why future Skyrim players would want to have both versions, the original and the remastered?

No. After today any new PC gamers who purchase The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the first time on PC on Steam or just never purchased the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on PC and after today if they purchase it it's DLC and two expansion packs don't get The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition for free.

Those of us PC gamers who have already purchased The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim since 11.11. and it's DLC and two expansion packs or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition get The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition for free forever.

Some mods may not be ported to 64-bit Skyrim.

So tired of hearing CD Projekt Red as the substance of an argument behind why a gamer should get something. Let's see how they follow up with their 'charity.'

Today is the last day you need to have already owned the previous version of Skyrim + DLC to be eligible for the free upgrade to SSE.

There. Problem clarified.
