I tried playing with Ringo, but I couldn't figure out what I was doing. Then I got to New Vegas and found a game called "Blackjack", it was very easy to learn and paid a lot more.

I prefer one's of 10's - 6's - Kings - and a few Jacks.

I like caravan, picked it up straight away.

I find that I really like playing caravan. There have been quite a few times I booted up the game just to play a few hands.

Given that the cards drawn on hits are partly factored by ones Luck, I personally find it annoying that you cant use standard playing methods to win.

IE, the dealer HAS TO hit on anything less then 17. Someone with low luck, the dealer is probably 50% of the time going to get a 20 or 21 total. You cant compete with that and it would be stupid to waste a perk to boost up your luck.

I would love to just play come nice simple blackjack without the crap card manipulation.

lol not if you know how to do it right my total winnings from caravan are 500623 caps and thats in 20 games black jack earns small change compared to that its hard to pick up at the start but once you get the hang of it you pretty much cheat the game lol

I play it straight up, but it's stupid easy to win even without stacking your deck; the AI doesn't use face cards so you can just roll him with that 9 times out of 10.

Fun game but a little unbalanced.

I use 6-10-King too, since 7-9-10 sometimes needs an (otherwise useless) Queen.

Helps if you don't play until buying enough of the "right" cards, and playing with the minimum of thirty means you have a better chance of drawing your preferred cards during the first round.

This all a bit academic, since the game's somewhat broken. Opponents can't sabotage your Caravans with face cards, and you can now discard as much you like in the first round anyway.

I am SO clueless whenever I try to play it. This is probably because I never read how and was blindly trying to figure it out. I wasn't even trying to hard anywho... :P

Its not a hard game to play, however, it is not easy to learn, but I learned, and I don't have the effort to put the right cards in my deck.

I somewhat began to understand it. I don't remember it very well now, but you had to build decks of certain numbers, I usually went with a deck of 24,25,26 and seemed to beat out my competition by placing cards in their caravans making them go over or under. It was just a mini game to me, much like the gambling on the strip. I won 30 hands just to grab the achievement for it, but if there wasn't an achievement for it I would have played it once and would have seen how awful the pay-off is and I'd never have bothered going back to it.

Honestly, I don't see the point in playing in the casinos or playing caravan when I can go explore, find loot and check out the different perk combos, dialogue, quests and endings. But I do think it's necessary, sure it looks like most people didn't really bother with it or enjoy it all that much. But it adds to the culture of the Fallout universe, it gives it more substance. We get to see the inhabitants of Fallout do more than just drink and do drugs for fun.

That's pretty much what I do. But, to be prevent me from completely walloping the NPC, I always randomize my deck.

I use 2 suits, no queens and no Jacks. I still don't know how the Jack works, the AI has to use them though due to me bombarding it with the Kings. I think I would lose against a real person, but because the AI has limitations - I win.

Once my caravans were smth like 26, 25, 23 and the game was still on, sometimes when I have 23, 17, 21 - I win. And when I lose, the cards are removed so quickly so I can't tell what happened. I will always play it, all 5.56mm and 5mm ammo in the early stages cost more than i find random loot to sell for. I have to start collecting the AP ammo early to be able to have fun later. And losing isn't a problem, 'F9' to the rescue..

i never bothered learning how to play the whole game, only learnt a few important things and used face cards to beat CPU.

it's pretty useful when u have vendors who also play caravan. u just buy stuff u want or even everything from them and win back ur money, lol. everytime~

It's too easy once you know how. Since you can pick what cards to use you can go through an entire play through and never lose.
