Have you booked time off for release day?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 9:19 am

So have you booked any time off for the release of Fallout 4?

I have booked 4 days off work. So including the weekend I will have 6 days I will hardly see daylight and can game the hell out of Fallout 4 and probably still not have completed my first play through lol.

I'm interested to see what everyone else is planning for release. :fallout:

Edit: Added throw a sicky option.

I never miss work so I have over 100 hours of vacation saved up. I requested off 3 days leading up to my weekend so I'll have 5 straight days to game!

I meant to, but I found out last week that I have a business trip. The rage I felt, you have no idea. Oh well, I might be able to get Thursday and Friday and make that my weekend.

I'm self-employed so it's not an issue.

It lines up perfectly with my lack of classes that week and I already had work off for a different reason so you better believe I'm ready to marathon.

Too right I have! Ive booked 2 weeks off annual leave & told all my mates that I will be totally unobtainable for the whole of November, possibly December also. After those two weeks have expired, I plan to take some sick days/weeks off work. I have a list of unfortuitous illnesses/excuses at the ready. I'm prepped!

I wish I could but I'm working up to a promising position in my company. I can barely afford to call off sick when I'm actually sick.

Unfortunately, I can't take off from work. My boss is a big Fallout fan, and is going to be taking the day off herself. I'm going to get very little sleep that week. I've already warned my boss to expect me to be red-eyed and exhausted every morning that week.

I somehow managed to put 80 hours into Skyrim the first week it came out, despite working a 40 hour work week. Which means I LITERALLY spent every moment not sleeping or working playing Skyrim. Steam tracking your hours in-game can make for scary realizations!

Nah, vacation days are for spending on trips with the family. I get every other Fridays off anyway. I will take my time playing on weeknights and weekends, just like I do with other games. Another thing, I don't want to be too far along when the patches drop and the CK arrives.

No, because why rush it? Eventually we'll have all played Fallout 4 to death. I like to take my time and spread it out in small chunks over the course of many days rather than binge play for 3 or 4 days straight.

Plus I'm kind of the opinion that taking time off of work, school etc. just to play a video game is a tad overzealous.

Booked that entire week off. A couple of days before to catch up on all the chores. Come November 10, I am going into seclusion until the end of the week. I'll probably remember to eat during that week. Maybe.

My family knows not to expect to see me for a couple of weeks after a Bethesda game releases. Thank goodness they only release one every few years. Other games I can play a few hours a week at a leisurely pace, but Bethesda open-world games are like catnip to me. I'll play them obsessively for the first few weeks, then taper off to a few hours a week like I do for normal games.

Never done it before, and have always thought it was a bit bizarre that others do this.

I use fake sick just to a play a newly released game when I was younger. I would take Tuesday off but I won't have class that Wednesday or Thursday that week.

Sorry that's just silly to take off work for a game. If I'm taking off I'm going to take a real vacation lol.

I wanted to take time off but was unable to. However since I work graveyards I'll be up for the midnight release which is also the start of my days off so I should still get a pretty decent amount of time with it anyways.
