Had, had gone, have now and will likely stay forever. Now I have someone who fills those empty parts my soul shows, who I can get into a heated argument with and still not be angry, who I can rely on and who can rely on me, completely. Yes, it's nice to find that one... one.

Yep, I've been in love for about 42 years now. It started out all butterfly flutters and toe curls and moved on into hard work and hard times sprinkled with butterfly flutters and all that's nice and now it's just another day of knowing one another so well we know what lines not to cross and which ones we may be able to. Still a bit of work sometimes and still an occasional waltz or slow dance to remind us there are some butterflies still living in there. But mostly it's a sharing of everything, good and bad, big and small, and timeless.

It's far greater than what I expected when I was young and far less than what I expected on some level.

Have you ever been in love? That is the question I pose to you, Community Discussion. Look, I even included a poll.

I've been close to it. Infatuation may be a more apt term though.

In a few days, will have been married for 6 months, but nothing at all has changed in the mentality we started out with surrounding the relationship. That is, I didn't see my future wife as someone I simply live in the same house with and am technically married to, but a best friend first and foremost.. the foundation of what I consider any respectable relationship. We don't spend much time apart at all, and given how much fun we have, even while she's 4 months pregnant, things are still going just as well as before we were married. We both communicate quite frequently and more than just that, listen.. and by listening, means doing and not simply hearing. Poll answer should be obvious.

...wat

I honestly don't know. Probably more infatuation than love. I don't really believe in soul mates or anything though.

I haven't, and I didn't vote because it's not that I don't care... just that I know it will come someday and I'm not trying to rush it. I'm pretty happy with casual relationships right now so I'm just rolling with it.

Well, m'boy, it can be. Stabs you in the heart and kicks you below the belt. But you enjoy every stinking minute of it.

I agree with this statement. I've been in love a few times and am currently in love with my girlfriend. If it ends then you definitely feel like someone's taken multiple groin-shots at you. But it's worth it. Maybe I just fall in love easily and, despite knowing the risks and having been severely hurt before, I keep trying to find love. Life svcks without love. It can hurt and can cripple you to the point where you question whether you will ever recover but it can also be the greatest, most rewarding, and most fulfilling feeling that you will ever experience.

Fortunately yes, and still am. As Mortanius said, it is indeed the best feeling in the world.

Of course it has its low points, but what doesn't? It's better than not feeling love from another and love toward them at all.

I was once, nothing came of it however. It was lovely I would like to experience it again. I think this quote from a clockwork orange decribes it well:

“oh bliss, bliss and heaven. Oh it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slushed I knew such lovely pictures.” -Alex

Stupid crushes that for a minute I thought was were love, but I guess thats how it goes.

Amen. There have been so many girls, that I thought I loved, that I thought loved me, but then when it ends, it's just gone...
There's only one girl, i've ever truly loved...she was the last girl i felt the light, lovey-dovey feeling around.

Just as it starts, we move away...
I think about her everyday

I'm sure your familiar with my threads

I'm still expecting my wedding invitation :celebration:

Never been in a relationship, but I have liked this girl for a LONG time (still do).

Same situation here. She shows absolutely no signs of interest in me unfortunately. :sadvaultboy:
