Have you ever made a character you love so much that you can't delete it?

Kath V4 just died so I have to delete her because she is a DiD character. I don't want to but then I will be breaking the rules of DiD and this is the only way I play Skyrim. I want to give her 1 more life because I just can't let her go yet. but if I do load the save I might not be able to stick to DiD rules and keep reloading after she dies. :(

I can't let her go but I can't break DiD rules. :(

This is why I don't play DiD.

When I play DiD I allow my character 3 lives until they reach level 10. This way it gives me a chance to flesh out my character and give them a fighting chance (I play legendary DiD).
So I'd say go for it

I put continue on with her. I do not play DID, but I have one character that I got slow with, so it seems like she will live on and on. I role play that when she gets to a certain age, she no longer gets older because of the dragon blood in her. After all, she has the soul of a dragon in the body of a mortal. This way, my gal becomes immortal. Until a dragon chews her up and spits her out. lol

Sorry. Forgot to give my answer. Continue on with her, for dragons live on and on and on, and after all. The dragonborn has a soul of a dragon.

At this stage with skyrim it's time to try stuff you wouldn't normally do, sticking with a character and forgetting about DiD would be a way to try something different and extend longevity of the game (since you always play DiD). You might find it a new experience where your bond with the character grows to even more unhealthy levels (jokes - but seriously break the rule).

Just curious (I don't know DiD rules), is Kath V4 your fourth incarnation of Kath (the V4 part)? If so, why not go with Kath V5?

I voted "Say Goodbye forever" based on this assumption

Slef-imposed rules are the toughest to enforce, especially when something like this happens. It sounds like if you do not enforce them now, you may lose the DiD gameplay you enjoy so much. On the other hand, if you made such a connection with Kath V4, maybe it is time to move on from DiD and enjoy the game in a new way

I will be making Kath V5 after saying goodbye to Kath V4 but Kath V4 is my favourite version of her and I am really enjoying the RP. I also think she's the bedt looking out of all 4.

I almost defied the rules of Dead is Dead... But after playing for 10 seconds on a technically dead character, my conscience kicked in and was like

"Bro, this ain't right"

Do'Mhirr. The first character that actually went through the main quest line. I have this game since 11-11-11 but I finished the main quest late 2013. Shocker, right? That's how bad my restartitis was. I am extremely attached to him, he travelled through most of the game content whilst keeping his RP and background intact. Highest levelled character so far and looks like a bad-ass in Nordic Carved Armour.

Will never delete him, ever.

That's how I feel and I haven't even loaded the save yet.

I'm just going to continue with my vampire until the poll has enough votes.

I chose "recreate her at Helgen", sort of a Kath 4.1 instead of Kath v5. I suspect that if you load the save, it will bug you later because you've been playing DiD. Something would probably feel "off" if you reload.

Hey!... I lost good cats doing that :P

(except my Level 45 Khajiit Legendary difficulty DiD, haven't played him in a long time though)

I actually do that when playing a Khajiit. They get 9 lives but I just can't do that with others.

Delete her, but have her reincarnated, Nerevar-style.

Why not? It's fine if you like the DiD challenge but to kill something you love behind self imposed rules seems stupid imo...that's like meeting the girl of your dreams after swearing off dating and sadly sticking to your vow instead of being happy with the love of your life.

I still have my first characters save file in the list that I will likely never delete.

I don't DiD characters but when I love a character so much and i got to the end of what I wanted to do with her/him. I'll restart her from the beginning.

Nah, It's more like meeting the girl of your dreams; she dies and you resurrect her with Necromancy, but you sort of realize it'll never be the same and was probably best to just let her go in the first place...

Well, at least a very exaggerated way of what it's like

The way I look at it is that I'm playing a game. The reason I play games is to make me happy. To make me happy, I play the game the way I want (it's a single-player game, after all). What I want is to follow my character's life, see what happens to her and how that changes her. If that means I have to reload a save because she died, then I reload the save. Heck, 99% of the time she dies, it's my fault anyway (or a game glitch).

There are so many bad things in life, why destroy something good that you love so much? Make yourself happy. I dare you.

I only ever play DiD with characters that I couldn't give a damn about.

If I was foolish enough to start a DiD playthrough with any of the characters in my sig, there is no way on Oblivion that I would delete my save.

Of course, I'm not insinuating that you are in anyway foolish. If I cared about a character, I couldn't delete the save.

ah so when you guys play DiD then you consider reloading a form of necromancy? I pretend it's one of those moments that never really happened which term escapes me at the moment.
